A Deeper Look!
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you for supporting my classroom. The students are using the materials as science labs. They designed a building that would support it's self in earthquake, filtered water to see how unclean water can become clear, they made a robotic hand and used it to pick up various items, and they designed a boat car and plane. These materials brought much excitement into the classroom environment. For example students built planes and had a contest to see who's plane wOuld fly the furthest. They were very eager to learn and to win the contest.
When the students first saw the science materials they were so excited and wanted to do everything that day. It was hard for them to wait until I could set up labs. The eagerness in the classroom was a bit overwhelming for me at times because of their willingness to explore and learn about new things that they see in their environment every day.
We are currently working on sink and float. The boat lab is very significant to bring a visual to this teaching. Students predict whether a boat can sink or float. They also have to design a boat that is equally balanced so that it does not tip, fill with water and sink.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Price
