A Book a Day, Makes you Smarter in Every Way!
Funded May 6, 2020I am so excited to get our books for our Book Library in the classroom. I was so looking forward to seeing the students use them in their book center for looking at the pictures and learning new words. Unfortunately, COVID19 has stopped us in our tracks. The students have been remote learning and now I have been assigned as the remote teacher for our Pre-K children that are staying remote even though school is open. This means that my classroom remains empty. I will be using our new books when I am reading to the remote leaners and hopefully one day soon my classroom will be full again with students who are eager to learn new things. We will put these amazing new books out in the book center for our students to enjoy. They will get to learn about books, understand print concepts, learn about sequencing of events, story retelling, and learn new sight words. I look forward to sharing these books for years to come. Again, thank you for helping me reach my goal and expanding our book library with new books for the students to love.”

Funded Oct 18, 2019My students and I have really enjoyed the new sand table and water table. The students are able to use these tables during our indoor center time. They all want to play with the sand or water and we have to set a timer so that each child has an opportunity to play. The children really enjoy when we put bubbles in the water table. They think it is so much fun to splash the water and create more bubbles.
The students were excited to see us fill each table with the water and sand for the first time. They wanted to help in any way possible. We were able to turn it into a sorting activity by having the students gather the sand or water toys and put them in each corresponding table.
In the future, we plan on using our tables for lessons regarding the sink or swim technique. This involves using different items to see which ones stay afloat and which ones do not. We will also be using the sand table to perform some measurements using measuring cups. Overall, we will get a lot of learning and a lot of fun out of our new tables. We appreciate the donations and will take care of our new materials.”
