Games like Spikeball are a great way to give students more exposure to quick simple games that can be played anywhere at any age. It is well known that physical fitness directly correlates in academic achievement. Once students learn the rules and strategy to the game in Physical Education, I would love to see it get transfer into a daily option outside my class in recess or classroom teachers using it for movement breaks. Spikeball could be a great tool to increase both fitness and academic gains. This project will give me another tool to help reach students in understanding that physical activity can be fun. It will allow for myself and other passionate teachers in my building to have instant activities to help bring classrooms closer together, become more physically fit, and more ready for learning throughout the school day.
