I work as the sole classroom teacher in a Transitional Bilingual classroom in the Bronx with approximately 27 students. I teach all content (Reading, Writing, Math, Science and Social Studies), as well as provide ESL services to my students. 100% of the students in my classroom are English Language Learners, meaning they speak another language besides English at home. In my classroom, I primarily provide instruction in English, but I teach for a percentage of the time in Spanish and I provide additional support in Spanish to students who have arrived recently to the country. I have a special connection with this particular class, not only because they are all wonderful, respectful and kind individuals, but also because I taught these children this past year in the 3rd grade and I will now be looping with them to teach them in the 4th grade. I am excited for the 2017-2018 school year!
