My students are scared. They know our classroom door could easily be opened in a lockdown as we have a window that can be broken and our door swings out. These safety devices prevent an intruder from being able to open the door since we are unable to barricade our door. This would lead to an increase in their feeling of safety in my classroom. It would also lead to more of the students in my classroom being able to survive if we were to have an active shooter in our building. Please help me to show them that they can be safe in school while they are here to learn?
