Achievement Hall Rocks the Reading Olympics

Funded Jan 17, 2019

There is truly no way to thank you enough for your kindness, generosity, and support for the Chester Community Charter School Aston Campus Reading Olympics team. Each year a limited number of schools receive the amazing opportunity to participate in this exciting event and in order to fulfill the needs of this special day our students must read multiple chapter books. Not only did our team beam with happiness upon hearing our application was processed and accepted for this fun day, but I was able to hand my team brand new chapter books from your donations; they couldn't wait to dive into them! Upon getting their brand new chapter books, some students commented on how fresh the books smelled while others were so thankful to have a book that had never been used before. I was beyond grateful to see a group of students truly excited over and looking forward to reading as many of them as possible!

I would not have been been able to purchase all of these books on my own, and fundraising money to purchase them would have taken extended time. Seeing our project funded in less than a few hours was not only shocking, but it truly brought tears to my eyes. There are 14 students in my school that feel loved and helped by complete strangers. You do not know these students, have never met them or have never experienced their need and yet you immediately found a place in your heart for them. We will be working our hardest to show our gratitude through our participation in the Reading Olympics!

Thank you for financially giving up a portion of something you may have wanted or needed in order to give to my students. Thank you for cheering us on, giving us pride, and doing so in such an immediate fashion. May 22nd is our big day to compete in the Olympics, and we are diligently reading and reviewing our books to prepare! Please know that on that day we will take a moment to remember each of you and all that you did to make our experience possible.

Many thanks, lots of love, and unending smiles are being sent your way!”

With gratitude,

Mr. Winokur
