  • Cubbies Needed

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

My first graders and I want to thank all of you for your donations for our wooden cubbies. The children love their special cubbies and putting their work, folders, and other materials in them. We were surprised how large each cubby hole is and how nice it looks in the classroom. It is a great piece of furniture to our classroom. It really adds a wonderful touch to it. The cubbies should last for many years to come. We also like how it is on wheels so if we decide to rearrange the classroom, it will be easy to move. Thank you again to all of you! We are very grateful!”

  • Printer Ink Needed

    Funded May 4, 2022

Thank you very much for your donations. It means a lot to the class and I. Being able to have two ink cartridges for our classroom printer is important to us. Ink is expensive and we can not order it from the school. We will be able to print classwork or homework in case of an emergency. Sometimes our office copier is out of order. I will also be able to make hard copies of work and be able to share it with my colleagues, if needed. I will also be able to print out notes for parents too. Thank you again for your generous donations!”

  • Keeping Organized with an iPad Cart

    Funded Dec 17, 2021

Thank you again for your donations. The IPAD charging station is great to have because it charges multiple IPAD s quickly. The children are able to help me put them in the station easily and take them out when needed. It is also small enough to keep on a table in front of the room.

We have not made the STEM boats yet but will make them after Spring break. The children are looking forward to making them. A few children have asked when we are making them. They are excited.

Thank you again for your generous donations. We are truly grateful!”

  • Fun & Engaging TPT Projects

    Funded Aug 20, 2021

Thank you very much for your donations towards the Teacher Pay Teachers gift cards. We have been able to get worksheets for math and reading. We have been able to find monthly projects based on what we are learning in class too. Some examples of our projects have been Pumpkin Character Book Report and Family Tree Project. For the holidays, we will be doing STEAM projects that require engineering and problem solving. One example is building a Christmas tree out of pipe cleaners. We will continue to use the rest of the gift cards for next semester. Thank you again!”

  • STEAM Time!

    Funded Jan 26, 2021

Thank you again for your generous donations for the STEAM vehicle projects!

When I first showed them the boxes on ZOOM and told them about the projects, they were so thrilled! You could see their excitement and huge smiles through ZOOM. They said they could not wait until they got to make them.

The children made the airplane on ZOOM together and they had so much fun making them. They were excited to see if their airplanes flew. The second one was the boat. The hybrid class was able to make them in class. Each child received small bins filled with water and we tested them outside of the classroom. They had so much fun! The online class made their boats too. Some even tested them in their bathroom sinks. I could see on their faces that they enjoyed it too.

Our last one will be the cars. We will do that one before the school year ends.

It has been an interesting year but with projects like these, the children are engaged and have a love of designing and building things.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adams

  • A Background That Will Be Used Online & In Class!

    Funded Aug 11, 2020

Words can not describe how grateful I am for your donations for the whiteboard! It has been so helpful and useful for distance learning while I teach from home. I am able to use it as a background so it looks like a classroom. I put posters on it such as writing , science, and math for my lessons. I can quickly pull down a poster for reference instead of sharing my screen which sometimes takes extra time. I also use it for small group instruction.

When we go back to school, I will be using it outdoors. I will be able to roll it outside and do a lesson in the fresh air under the trees. It will be fun being outdoors and teaching! My aide will be able to use it for small group instruction as well.

Thank you again for your donations!

With lots of appreciation and love!”

  • Relaxing Library

    Funded Sep 11, 2019

When the boxes came, the children were so happy to see them. I heard someone say, "I can't wait to have a classroom library!" As we opened the boxes, there was a lot of excitement in the air. Some children helped me pull out the chair and sofa in front of the classroom. Someone said, " I love the color" and another child said , " I didn't realize how big the sofa was going to be. Three kids can sit on it." We put them in our library corner and they could not wait to sit in our new library!

Everyday the children sit in the library during small group time. They use it as a quiet center as I work with small groups. Everyday, three children go to it to read and they love it! Even other staff members have come in our class and can't get over how it looks in our library. They say it looks like a real library. It is wonderful to see that the children have a passion for reading in our library! Thank you to everyone who donated! You put huge smiles on their faces! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adams

  • Let's Write the Room!

    Funded Feb 5, 2019

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your donations. We are so happy to be using our new white boards and answer boards. We are able to use them for our write the room center and for our math and spelling time.

When the students saw the boards, their reaction was " The boards are so new and clean!" They were happy to be getting new boards and they are trying to take care of them. The boards help them stay focus on their writing and math review lessons. It is another way to keep them motivated.

Thank you again from room 28! Hugs to all of you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adams

  • Staying Active

    Funded Sep 10, 2018

Thank you very much for donating to our pe project. The children were so happy to get the equipment. When I opened up the boxes to show them, they cheered. Some asked if they could use it during recess and lunch. I told them that they may use it during that time and pe. They also wanted to share the equipment with the other classes.

We have used the bean bags to learn how to catch and throw. We used the hula hoops as a marker to toss the bean bags into. The rubber balls are being used to do group games such as four square. It is easier to do groups now because the balls are different colors and the children know their group colors. They love using the jump ropes during recess and lunch. My helpers like setting up the cones for games. They enjoy pushing out the pe cart and choosing the equipment they want to play with.

We will use our equipment throughout the year. I still want to teach them other games using the equipment. Thank you again for your donations.”

  • Engaged Students Need a Comfortable Seating Area

    Funded Sep 29, 2018

Thank you very much to our donors. We love our new cushions and rugs. The children were so happy to get new seating for our classroom. When we opened the boxes, they loved the bright colors. They love seating on their comfy cushions. We use them everyday, several times a day.

We keep the cushions in large plastic boxes and when we come to the floor, they get their colored cushions and sit down.

The cushions and rugs are so much cleaner than having a huge classroom rug. I can sweep the classroom everyday and the class looks so spacious. It makes the class look bigger and cleaner without the classroom rug.

Thank you very much for our comfy seating cushions and rugs!

    We love them!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Adams

Teaching physical education will keep the children focused and instill life long health goals. They will be able to learn proper locomotive skills such as jumping, throwing, etc. All of the equipment such as the balls, bean bags, jump ropes, hula hoops, etc will be used with the physical education standards in mind. Having the child sized equipment storage will be used during their recess/lunch time so they can easily have access to the equipment. Once I teach the children a specific p.e. Skill, I will put out the equipment and they can practice it. They will also get to choose which physical activity they want to play with their classmates. Being active is very important because they will use it their entire lives.
