• LifeSmarts T-Shirts/Rewards/Oh My!

  My students were so excited to receive the t-shirts that we have turned into our LifeSmarts program shirts that show our accelerated program!

  My students just wore their tshirts with logos that the students pressed on to their shirt - so they are know about 12 students now that are proudly wearing their shirts!

  They also have enjoyed the snacks that were provided!!

  We are now easily acknowledged for learning about Lifesmarts that include topics like finances, technology etc - life skills that will last way longer than the snacks! We will be wearing and competing in the next month or two against other teams in our state and hope to advance to nationals - these shirts have prompted pride and will hopefully encourage our program at our school!”

• Career Search: Organization & Preparation for Resumes & Cover Letters

  My students are being able to prepare a resume and a cover letter (letter of application) in my Intro to Business Computer Applications Class as well as our Principles of Business course. They will each get to leave with a hard copy on resume paper of both documents in a nice folder that they will take with them as they leave this year.

  They have been able to understand the amount of time and effort aka work that goes into making a resume. Your contribution made this happen! Students are often lacking in this area due to not all students being required to take a business class. This activity allows them to understand the impact of what they do as early as their freshman year and how what they are doing now will impact their resumes in thef uture.”

• Wiggle While I Work!

  Thank you so much for your donation! The students were so excited to receive the chairs that allow them some movement rather than a stationery office chair. We have 3 of them and daily, my classes rush to see who will be able to use them. The chairs at first that I had ordered were out of stock and my students were super disappointed. But Donors Choose allowed me to find a replacement and the kids were completely involved with the process of delivery etc.

  The chairs stated that they would improve back muscles, spine position, coordination, increases blood flow back to heart and more. It has been fun to see the students so excited and has almost completely alleviated my original problem where students were leaning back in office chairs and bending them.

  Your donations have changed many of my student's days and I am forever grateful and so are the students.”

• Games That Teach Money Skills!

  Thank you so much for all of your financial support of driving home the financial literacy topics that we cover in class through the use of games.

  My students were eager to play the games and the discussions from the games were both comical and intriguing! They were speaking the language we've discussed all semester and were thoroughly engaged.

  My only regret is that the parents can't hear how frugal their kids are when it comes to spending the student's own fake money:) Thank you once again!”
