I like to give students a variety of centers for their independent work during reading time. I have many books on CD's and headphones but unfortunately my CD players are no longer working. Bringing books to life and giving students examples of the rhythm and cadence of good reading is a added benefit to a well rounded listening center. Reading is such an important skill in the 3rd grade but students need engaging things to do while I am with other reading groups. With my extensive collection of books on CD's and headphones ready to go, all I really need are new CD players that work.
