We are going to use this mixer in our new class: Health, Food, and Wellness. In this class, we are learning all about being healthy. We have a large variety of items we are going to try to cover. One of the first items we are learning about are the essential nutrients and vitamins found in food. We are also learning how they affect our body. Nutritious snacks are important part of children's and adolescence's health. With this blender, I hope to be able to teach the kids easy ways to get their essential nutrients, by eating items they normally would not. Many of my students do not eat leafy greens, and this is an easy way to teach to like them. If the kids can learn, at a young age, ways to eat healthy, it will carry on to adulthood. I want my students to understand how and what to look for on nutrition labels. If they can learn this concept at a young age, it will allow them to make wiser decisions as they age. We are also creating a garden. Within the garden are items we are hoping to use in our smoothies. This will be a fun, exciting, and rewarding way to enjoy class. Not only will my students enjoy these smoothies, but also, the staff would be able to enjoy the benefits of our "labor."
