My students have the potential to excel in education. However, due to socioeconomic factors outside of school. They are prevented from experiencing an equitable education. In my classroom, I provide a safe place for my students to not only learn but to thrive as an individual apart of their community in which they experience many hardships. Most of my students, because of family circumstances come to school missing breakfast or won't have many opportunities to eat. To this end, provide snacks and a refrigerator to store them in will eliminate one of my students strutters that prevent them from learning. In addition, Our school is Title I and is limited not only on resources but on supplies for my students to use. Many times, school supplies is left for student to buy on their own. However, my students already have financial hardships within their family that prevents them from having the funds that are require form them to make learning gains form their low proficient level. Usually in my class which ranges from 20-25 students, everyone has to share the supplies that I was able to buy (4 glues, 7 scissors) which takes up most of the class time. With your help my students will not only have ALL the materials they need to creatively but they will have the opportunity to push forward and overcome obstacles they face in their enviroment knowing that their are those outside of their community committed to seeing them succeed.
