Fostering Civics & Discourse Through the Classroom Community
Funded Nov 15, 2024My students are loving these white boards. They have used them for brainstorming, debate, and action plans. I have hung sources for them to use in inquiry projects. And they have been used by students to record notes during discussions. Their mobility has been a game changer. We cannot thank you enough.
They have been a great addition to our classroom offering diverse learners another option to formulate ideas. Students are able to move them to their work station rather than having to move all their materials to one of the stationary white boards surfaces. Students are far more likely to move be the board to them rather than move to the board.”

Developing Collaboration & Compromise to Tackle Current Issues
Funded May 12, 2024The students are absolutely loving the mobile white boards. They have been used for a variety of activities including brainstorming, research and data collection, station activities, and group planning.
In fact, today students used them to brainstorm a list of local community issues that they would like to tackle for their Capstone Projects. Groups of students spent 10-15 minutes at the boards making their lists, conversing, encouraging each other etc. I had originally only planned for 10 minutes but they asked for more time - not because they didn't have ideas but because the ideas were flowing. That set up allowed for students to work in a casual environment, share ideas freely, and listen to those they might necessarily work with in other situations. Following that we had a great 45 minute discussion about a few of the issues. I definitely feel the boards encouraged the success of that lesson.
Students have been excited to use the boards since day 1. They can pick a spot in the room to work whether that be standing or sitting at a high top table. It allows them to move the board between group members as well, so responsibilities are shared. The boards are THE hot commodity in the classroom.”

Post Pandemic Classroom- Color and Comfort
Funded Aug 16, 2021The students are absolutely loving the additions to the classroom. The rugs are so vibrant and warm. The colors bring life to an otherwise institutional looking room. They comment often on the look of the room and the welcoming feeling of the environment. Students use the bean bags daily and look forward to the comfortable seating. When students can pick where they want to sit to best benefit their learning the outcome is always good. Not only do they have ownership of their learning but also their social emotional wellness while in class.”

21st Century Students = 21st Century Classroom Seating Options
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. The stools, yoga pillows, and lapboards have been such nice additions. Students have been able to move freely around the room, sit in small groups more comfortably, and learn in an environment that is more reflective of their 21st century learning styles. Students are able to pick where they would like to sit each day whether at a traditional desk, using a stool to pull up next to others, or grabbing a pillow and a lapboard and sitting on the floor. Students have truly appreciated the flexibility that these items offer.”
