Thank you for your continued support. The supplies we will be receiving will help my students understand place value and decimal concepts. • Setting the Stage for Reading

    Funded Dec 21, 2022

I want to thank you all for your support with our library and reading project. My students have enjoyed having a new and organized library. With the help of our student teacher Ms. Cheng we are now able to enjoy a leveled and categorized library. Students can shop weekly to check out books from our amazing library. They keep their books in their book bags and then return books with the help of our librarians. You have all truly impacted the love of reading in our classroom by donating to our project. THANK YOU!”

  • Representation in the Sciences

    Funded May 3, 2022

With your generous donations my students were able to read books that represented them by learning about scientists of color. I read them about engineers and mathematicians but also about how they can make a difference in our world through Science.

The kits that you provided in our project allowed them to witness a volcanic eruption which we learned about in class through our ELA curriculum. Our student teacher led the activity and they were so excited and engaged. They also became archaeologists by digging apart a dinosaur fossils. They absolutely loved the hands on work.

Thank you all so much for bringing Science to life by helping my students learn about Scientists that are just like them.”

  • Inclusive Reading and Art for All!

    Funded Sep 24, 2021

Thank you all so much for your support with this project. My students have enjoyed reading stories that include characters just like them. We have learned about Native water protectors, experiences in the city with diverse communities, and people of color who have supported social justice issues.

With your support we were also able to create art projects with real skin colors. My students specially enjoyed the color pencils and markers that matched their skin. The construction paper helped them create self portraits and they were excited to choose their own tone.

It has been really exciting to watch my students read and create art that represents them in special ways. They feel seen and has brought about great conversations and learning. Thank you once again for your wonderful donations!”

  • Flexible Seating for Flexible Learners!

    Funded Dec 3, 2019

Before our class went off on Winter Break for the Holidays we received a special delivery! All of our flexible seating arrived in Amazon packages and we were all so excited. We opened our packages together and we were able to enjoy our new seating before we left for vacation. My students now have choices for seating and are doing an amazing job with sharing all seats. They specially love the fuzzy big seat in our library which provides a quiet comfy space for reading. Thank you all so much for your continued support. You donations to our project are being put to good use everyday. My students work much more productively because of their seating. They are able to move about freely but also work with partners and groups. We appreciate you!”

  • Learning Through the Wiggles: Flexible Seating

    Funded Mar 1, 2019

First, thank you all so much for contributing to our flexible seating project. My class was completely surprised to see all of the new seating and were even more excited to start using it all. We quickly went over expectations on how to use each item. For many students being able to move and be comfortable has supported their learning.

My students were most excited for the balance yoga ball seats as they are able to bounce a bit and balance on them as they work. The small trays were perfect for their chromebooks. They are able to sit on the rug and I can utilize them during small group lessons. The cushion seats have been so helpful for students that are the most active and they enjoy using them during our writing time.

We are extremely grateful for your support. You have all made my students a more focused and comfortable during class time. You've added a lot more fun to learning. I am looking forward to implementing more flexible seating for the next school year.”

My students are very active. They enjoy moving about the classroom during transitions, standing when working, or sitting comfortably when reading. In order to support their needs I'd like to help them become more engaged by providing them balance balls, balance cushions, and portable desks that can be used on the rug. I am hopeful that with these items they will be able to stay on task longer and have an option of where to sit while they learn. Having the freedom to move when they need to will allow them to take control of their learning and enjoy their time in class.
