  • Two Plus Two Equals Five

    Funded Jan 6, 2010

WOW! That is what I hear daily from my students. They are excited and happy to use the Radius cards that each and every one of you supplied to my students.

The learning center that is the hands-down favorite in my classroom is the Radius center. My second grade students enjoy using the technology and the Radius machines/cards to learn at their own pace. I have seen students repeat concepts that were giving them trouble. Then when they were tested on these same standards they mastered the concepts. In the past this NEVER would have happened. To be honest, unfortunately, the students would have just accepted failing grades. The Radius cards can reach the special education students in a way I was just unable to reach. This is completely amazing to me! I feel truly blessed that you all thought so much of this request that you provided your hard earned money to support my students.

Thank you very much and please rest assure that you have made quite a difference in my classroom and will continue to make an impact for many years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Danner

  • Special Needs Students Need Special Materials

    Funded Dec 15, 2009

Words are not appropriate nor can they adequately express my sincere appreciation to each and every one of you for your thoughtful and generous donations that allowed this project to come to fruition. The reading and writing center is awesome. The children truly appreciate and enjoy using the center to practice spelling words and master arithmetic standards. When the center arrived at my school in January my students were excited to see the supplies. That pales in comparison to how they now behave during center time. Gone is the drudgery (on the student's part) of assignments. Now the students in my classroom are eager to work! Each and every child is overwhelmingly excited when it is their turn to work in the center with the station. In addition, children who are having trouble with a particular problem in math are free to use the board to seek help and guidance in the process of solving the problem. The children enjoy using the center so much I don't think they realize that they are indeed learning.

Again, I wish to express my sincere gratitude to each and every one of you kind and generous souls. Without people who care about the underprivileged these students would be forgotten and never have the supplies they need to get a good education.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Danner

  • What Goes Up - MUST Stay Up!!!

    Funded Dec 23, 2008

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish words could adequately express my sincere gratitude to you. Your generous contribution WILL make a difference in the successful outcomes of my current students and students to come for many years. I can hardly wait to start recording my students' current reading abilities and compare their ability to the progress they will have made by the end of the year. This is something that will be repeated until I retire from teaching in the distant future! Imagine parents receiving the gift of a DVD with their child's reading - what a wonderful heirloom to keep for all time. Thank you, and you may rest assured that YOU have made a difference”

    Funded Dec 23, 2008

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish words could adequately express my sincere gratitude to you. Your generous contribution WILL make a difference in the successful outcomes of my current students and students to come for many years. I can hardly wait to start visiting websites and displaying web videos that all the children can see. This is something that will be repeated until I retire from teaching in the distant future! Imagine, if you will, a video trip to Antarctica. Imagine a tour of a firehouse without leaving the safety of the classroom. We can tour the Grand Canyon without the cost associated with a trip. Thank you, and you may rest assured that YOU have made a difference”

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I wish words could adequately express my sincere gratitude to you. I can hardly wait for my students to begin using the dry erase boards. Rest easy knowing that the boards will be used daily. • Music Soothes the Soul

    Funded Nov 24, 2008

YYIIIPPPEEE!!! That is what will be heard in the classroom when these CD's arrive at my school. The children and I are excited to receive these CD's that you so graciously provided for our classroom. The impact of these CD's is sure to be immeasurable. I know that they will affect the children in a positive way. The children will be able to move, chant, sing, and rhyme to the music. In addition, they will experience music that is not what they typically would listen to. They will experience different rhythms, cultures, ans styles thanks to you and your generous, giving spirit. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. The children all say thank you, too”

I teach fourth grade in the largest most diverse school district in the state. This is a large urban district. My students come from homes of poverty. Many of the students in my classroom are learning disabled. They simply cannot grasp many of the complicated concepts that are educational standards at this grade level. I also teach ENL students. Many ENL students have trouble understanding English and require manipulative's and other learning aids. Lastly, in my classroom I teach a gifted cluster. This means that I have 4-5 students who are advanced in fourth grade educationally. This means I need other games and resources to reach these children, as well. I love teaching and want my students to reach the pinnacle of education. In short I want my students to be all that they can be!
