Teacher - I Can't Hear What They Are Saying
Funded Aug 27, 2021WOW! Thank you for the powerful learning impact you have made in this classroom. I am unable to tell you what a difference the headphones have made with the students' learning.
Education is so different from what it was just two years ago. More than half of our educational day is spent with online learning opportunities. However, with so many children accessing online learning they must have good dependable headphones to hear and microphones to speak into so that the artificial intelligence programs are able to capture what the students say. The difference in our learning success is now attributable to the headphones you have provided!
The success of all students in this classroom and third grade is resting firmly on your shoulders! Thank you very much!”

Teaching Love and Acceptance of All
Funded Sep 16, 2020With the uncertain times we live in there is one thing I am certain of and that is that children need to be taught tolerance and acceptance of all living beings. Unfortunately, too many instances have occurred lately that point out the injustices and prejudices in our country. With your generous contribution to this project, I can provide the written word to students that illustrates the importance of treating everyone humanely. The books you help fund have started many wonderful conversations in the classroom related to equality - just what I was hoping for! I desire my students to be a small beacon of change in the school , community, city, and hopefully spread their message of love for all across the country.
Thank you for your donation to the project and change that my students will lead!”

Funded Dec 17, 2015The students and I are truly grateful for your generous donations to this project. The computers have arrived in the classroom! The impact the computers will make in the reading abilities of my fourth grade students will be measured positively for years to come!
Not only are computers an essential part of every classroom culture and learning, they are essential to future student achievement and success. I remember my first many years of teaching when computers were NOT something that a classroom or school possessed. I have watched the introduction and daily use of computers become a necessary part of the classroom rituals and routines. My students need the technology to become successful 21st Century learners. My students use computers daily to read, solve math problems, and write. Without your generous gift of the two netbooks my students would continue to struggle to use Mac's too dated for effective usage. I will continue to strive to bring more technology to the 80 plus students I teach every day! I am committed to this endeavor. I have witnessed first-hand the powerful changes a great computer can make.
With eternal thanks and gratitude from myself and a multitude of students we salute your willingness to get involved in public education, inner-city education, disadvantaged lives, special education, English inquiry, and student achievement.”

Funded May 31, 2010Thank you one and all for the fabulous reading games you have provided for my second grade classroom. You will never know the tremendous impact these games have made in my classroom in a few short weeks.
The students in my classroom love the games and are learning a great deal about comprehension, cause and effect, and many other fundamentals of reading. I am astonished by what these games are teaching my students! I am thrilled to use the games in reading centers and my students are willing and eager to play and challenge each other. Reading centers are the highlight of my students' day. My students no longer think reading is a chore. This change is a life changing change! Just imagine students who WANT to read!
I am looking forward to sharing their enthusiasm with you through pictures and their thank you letters. I hope you will be as impressed with them as I am. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, kindness, and generosity!

Funded May 10, 2010Thank you so much for your time and monetary donations that made this request a reality! This center is the best! I could not imagine the difference that this single item would make in the classroom but let me tell you it has made a HUGE difference in our classroom. I use an incredibly complicated reading system and my students were unable to locate their materials in a timely fashion before we had this organizer! My students know right where to go to find their reading supplies. I can't begin to tell you the improvement the organizer has made!
Without this organizer my second grade students would waste precious time that they needed to improve their reading skills. They now take those precious minutes and put them to good use getting more "bang for the buck" every minute. I am seeing progress and improvement daily.
I hope that through the pictures you will see of the students and the center and thank you notes from the students you will begin to get a true sense of the impact the organizational center has made in the classroom. I find it truly awesome that such wonderful people think so much of my students that they donate their money to make a difference in my classroom now and for many years to come. I truly thank you for all you have done.”

Funded Apr 20, 2010Thank you all for your concern for the writing abilities of my precious second grade students. Your concern for my students and their improvement was the catalyst that allowed Donors Choose to purchase the writing center for my classroom. Your monetary donations to fund this request made a dream of mine a reality. My "itch" to see students write better has now been "scratched" and my second grade students are well on their way to becoming better writers.
The day the writing center arrived in my classroom was the last day that writing was a problem and was the day that we tossed out the words "I can't" in our class. You have helped to turn can't into cans!
On behalf of my second grade students and myself we thank you now and for many, many years of writing organization and success in the future. Thank you!”

Funded May 11, 2010Thank you wonderful Donors for your thought, kindness, consideration, and money that allowed Donors Choose to purchase Time for Kids and Weekly Reader for the students in my second grade classroom. My students love to receive their weekly magazines that we read and discuss to take home to discuss with their families. As a matter of fact, we recently held our annual Open House and I had many parents positively comment on the two magazines. Many parents told me that their child had come home from school and told them about things we had read and talked about in the magazines. I can not think of anything else that could have occurred that would have meant as much. The learning is nothing short of very powerful.
The nonfiction stories are well-written and timely. The use of Time for Kids and Weekly Reader will surly work to prepare students for high stakes testing.
I hope that through the posting of the pictures and the thank you notes from my students you will gain a sense of their appreciation and mine. Thank you!”

Funded Jun 2, 2010Thank you one and all for the for the fantastic reading tables. My second grade students are thrilled! They are incredibly excited to sit at the tables and read. The table are nothing short of perfect for my students to sit at and converse with each other about their reading. I am so happy that incredible people thought so much of my students and my proposal to fund this request. My students are much more eager to sit and learn with the new tables. They are excited to sit, listen, and learn. The rich reading conversations are terrific to listen to.
I believe my students feel like people other than their teacher and parents care about them. I have shared with my students that strangers think enough of them to fund requests for materials to help them learn. They were very excited to hear me tell them this. I think too often the students don't realize that there are many more people concerned about their education than the people they see daily.
Rest assured your wonderful spirits, kind gesture, and funding for this request will not go unused. My students will make sure this NEVER happens. Thank you one and all now and for MANY years of successful reading to come.”

Funded Sep 8, 2010Thank you one and all for your kind, generous donations which allowed Donors Choose to purchase the new chairs for my classroom and students. The chairs are awesome. My students are thrilled to have the new chairs to use in groups and centers. The chairs are the perfect size for use at our reading tables. My students are eager to get to centers and learn in order to sit in the new chairs. I am thrilled that you thought so much of my students that you supplied your own money to fund this request.
I assure you that the students in my classroom this year and for many, many years to come will benefit from the chairs. My students are happy and excited to sit and deliver in these chairs. I am overcome that so many people think so highly of my students and their potential to donate money to ensure their success. I appreciate all you have done - will do - and your compassion for public education. Thank you!”

Funded Apr 21, 2010I want to thank you very much for your kind and generous donation that allowed Donors Choose to purchase the science supplies for use in my classroom. My students are sincerely enjoying learning about their environment. Words can not do justice to what your kind donation means to my students and their comprehension of the world around them. Science is no longer a drudgery in my second grade classroom. Students are eager to learn, comprehend and share their discoveries.
It is very satisfying for me as an educator, for a great number of years, to see the excitement and enthusiasm that my students are now displaying toward learning the often difficult and complicated science concepts. I am overwhelmed by their excitement.
You have humbled me and I assure you that is no easy task. I hope through the pictures that I will post you will get a true sense as to the joy and excitement that now emanates throughout the classroom.
Thank you for your support of public education and students in the state of Indiana. On behalf of my students and myself I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
