Shedding Light on Creativity
Funded Mar 15, 2023The Light Boards arrived and my students were extremely excited. Thank you for helping make this project a reality for my classroom.
I have wanted, for some time now, to have a light table in my classroom, but when I saw another teacher using these, I fell in love with the idea of the boards being portable and easy for my students to use.
Giving my students hands on opportunities to explore the world around them and being able to manipulate objects to create new pictures, spell words and practice their number skills has been beneficial to all my students.
Thanks again for being such an incredible supporter of my classroom and my students. It means so very much to all of us.”

Explore and Play in Tk!
Funded Nov 29, 2022These three, creative, play items have been such a hit with my students. They were so excited to open the boxes and discover what was inside. The smiles on their faces are such a precious memory for me.
Thank you for helping bring the playhouse, moon rover and train set into my classroom. Your support in helping complete this project have been one of the highlights of my students year.
The rover has been added to a "space" station of play and the playhouse is a favorite of both boys and girls. The train set has brought out some critical thinking skills that I have enjoyed watch happen, as the students figure out how to make the track work in a circle or just being able to fit on a table.
Again, thank you so much for your support of my students and classroom. I appreciate it tremendously.”

Funded Aug 10, 2022I can't thank you enough for your contribution to this latest project. My students use the stickers on a daily basis with our Fine Motor Tubs each morning and for special projects throughout the week. I feel blessed to have the support from the Donors Choose community and will never be able to thank you enough.
The stickers arrived the first week of school and my students were so excited to open the packages and see what the "surprise" was. They look forward to our next project supplies to arrive.”

Funded Mar 2, 2022Oh my! The arrival of these stamps was incredibly exciting for my students. They loved using them in our fine motor centers and would ask to use them throughout the day. The size of the stamps were perfect for their developing hand muscles.
Inadvertently, they learned responsibility on how to care and store them so the stamps would not dry out or loose a lid. My students who weren't even using them that day would make sure they were cleaned up correctly so they were ready for when they got to the center.
I have been able to save a few to be used during this coming school year and look forward to my new students using them.
Thanks again for your support in making this project come to life for my students. It has made a wonderful impact on them and me.”

Funded Apr 21, 2021What a wonderful gift these play sets are for my students. I can't say thank you enough for your generosity and support for making this project a reality for my students.
When the boxes arrived, the excitement in their eyes was priceless.
Daily these play sets are enjoyed by students. I watch and listen to them talk and play with such drama and expression. I know it has helped increase some of my English Learners with their vocabulary, also.
The amazing gift of imaginative play has come to life in my classroom thanks to this project being fully funded.
Thank you.”

Stickers Help Us Build Strength
Funded Apr 1, 2021I can't thank you enough for you help in making this project a reality for my classroom. It is amazing how many stickers a class of 20 students can go through in a week. During this time of adjusted ways of teaching and learning, using stickers to help us with our fine motor development has been crucial.
The students were excited to see the boxes and watch me open them. I wish I could have posted pictures of their eyes. It was like Christmas to them.
We use these for many projects throughout the week. From helping us find our capital and lower case letters to helping us learn sight words and with counting and patterning practice in math.
Again, thank you for your support.”

Funded Jul 26, 2020What a year this has been! Thank you so much for making this project come to light. The binders are a favorite of my students. I have placed important name writing practice, ABC writing and games that have enhanced my student's learning.
It took a while to get all the materials in, due to shipping delays, but when students returned to the classroom for in-person learning, they were surprised to be able to watch me unbox and organize their own, personal work binders.
It was so sweet to see the look on their faces when I handed them each their personal binder. Their eyes lit up and were so thankful. My students now ask me daily it they can get their binder out and do the activities inside.
We are currently using them in the classroom during our learning time. I add new pages when new concepts need reinforcement and they are ready to be sent home, if needed.
Again, thank you so much for your contributions to making this project come to life for my students and I.”

Funded Jan 31, 2019Thank you so much for your contribution to this project and being a part of my students exposure to coding.
My students were so excited to see the box when they arrived and it was all I could do to have them wait for me.
After unpacking and loading the mouse robots with batteries, we set out to explore and see what we could create. The kids worked in small groups first to learn the proper care and use of the mice, then I let them pair up and create on their own.
It was difficult at first, but once my students realized how to get the mice to move where they wanted them to move to, that was when the true fun began.
The mice are requested almost every day. It makes my teacher heart happy to see how my students persevere through the problem solving and working with a partner to navigate the mouse to the "cheese".
Thank you again for this opportunity to introduce coding skills to my young students.”

Mrs. West
You're Never Too Young to Begin Coding
Funded Oct 10, 2018Thank you so much for making this project a reality for my classroom and students.
When the students arrived and saw the boxes, it took some maneuvering and fancy footwork on my part to keep them back so I could get a few pictures. I have been working hard this year with instilling gratitude, compassion, and thankfulness in my curriculum so it was music to my ears to hear the kids immediately say out loud their "thank yous" and "We are so lucky someone thought of our class!"
When we were able to sit down, discuss the rules of using the Botley robots, and then practice as a whole class, you could have heard a pin drop! The students bubbled with excitement as they sat up obstacles and coded Botley to maneuver around the room. What a memorable experience for my students. They ask to use Botley every day. I wish my time schedule allowed for that, but I want you to know that without your support, these experiences would not happen in a class like ours.
Due to the high interest and success, I am planning on adding to our coding robot selection in a new project to be up on my Donors Choose site soon. Having only 3 Botley's for 25 students can be hard for everyone to be able to access on a regular basis. If you can help us out again or know someone who can help bring more experiences to my classroom, please go to my class page and donate. Any amount helps.
From the bottom of my heart and my student's hearts, thank you!”

Funded Aug 28, 2018Thank you to the generous donors who helped make this project a reality for my classroom. The students were so excited to find the box when they returned from lunch.
The dough is individually packaged and just the right portion size for my TK students. We use the dough each day in our morning-fine-motor-tubs and each week during language arts centers. The Messy Mats have been a life saver! They keep my tables clean and a clear work area focus for the kids. The alphabet, number and shape mats have come in handy for all-around concept review and even introduction for my students. I love hearing them say the letter, its sound and naming the pictures that begin with that letter on each mat. It has built confidence in some of my "slower learners" and has helped their hand muscles become stronger. I'm really not sure why I didn't discover these mats earlier.
Thank you again for your support for me and my students. It means so much to us.”
