This funding of books will give students the opportunity to own a book of their own and to write in it for a better understanding. Without having books to read, they have limited ability to grow as young adults. This gives them a chance to share their knowledge with their families. Most students have limited English knowledge or vocabulary, having books to write in helps them with not only comprehension but also with translation from English to their native language. Many students are very successful once they have a deeper understanding of English. It's great to see them transform from basic English knowledge to being completely immersed in English.
