An Easel to Help with Our Fundations!
Funded Mar 17, 2018Thank you so much for your contribution to our easel project. My student were over the moon when we received this package. It has already helped in out learning so much. Every morning we write a morning message when students help to write out the message. The easel helps us learn how to write capital and lower case letters, how to form letters and how to write sentences. The magnetic aspect of the easel is our favorite part. We are bale to use letter and words from our Fundations phonics curriculum to segment and blend words, to make sentences and to build words together. Students are very much engaged in lessons! The size of the easel is perfect. It is visible for all students and keeps them focused on the learning! Again, thank you for your generous donation!”

Listening to Literacy for All!
Funded Nov 17, 2017I just wanted to take the time to truly thank you for your donation. These books have made a huge impact in my classroom. I don't own many non-fiction books that related to the curriculum and these books have defiantly helped. I have used these books to dig deeper in our curriculum to teach students facts about animals. We are currently studying owls and students have been listening to the book, Owls by Gail Gibbons in the listening center. By listening to this book students are able to retell facts that they are learning about owls. For some students that are hearing these facts again but are getting a deeper understanding of the content material.
We have a balanced reading program in my classroom. We read aloud books numerous times a day. There are may ways to listen to a story and a great way is in the listening center. By listening to a story orally it allows many opportunities for children. children benefit by having a deeper understanding and comprehension. It promotes language and early literacy development. Children start to use book handing skills and also concepts of print. Some students in my class have a hard time focusing on the rug during read aloud. having a literacy center helps with their attention span so that they are able to hear the story again and earn along side their peers.
All of my students are enjoying these books. I don't have many on-fiction books in my classroom so it is nice to have many to choose from. there really like looking at the illustrations and trying to draw the same pictures during centers time. It has given them yet another opportunity to use the books as a way of learning new information. There are really excited to go to the listening center and listen to a new story. I cam really grateful and so are my students for this donation.”
