  • Flooded Houston School Needs Supplies Relief

    After all the damage and depression that Hurricane Harvey has caused, this is such a wonderful way to start the school year. I am so grateful for these wonderful gifts. My students will be surprised to see that they have school supplies even though most students were not able to bring their own due to the storm. We will now have brand new notebooks, homework folders, small whiteboards, manipulatives to help with low learning students, stools for station learning and containers to organize our data, supplies, and materials.

    Without the basic materials, learning would be very difficult for my students. It is such a blessing to know that there are such generous people willing to help this cause. The supplies and materials will help the learning environment so much on a daily basis. I have so much appreciation in my heart! Thank you again.”

    This classroom project was brought to life by The Association of Texas Professional Educators and 2 other donors.
My 5th grade students all come from a low income high poverty area in Houston, Tx. All students at Stevens Elementary qualify for free lunches. Although these students live in a high poverty area I feel strongly that they deserve all the tools necessary to receive an the best education possible. This education will allow them to close their learning gaps and allow them to succeed at their grade level. This success will build confidence in these students and give all of them the chance to dream of thriving in a world beyond poverty and crime. I will do whatever it takes to help my students be successful and to help them receive the education they deserve. I will also work hard to give them the chance to live their lives with no boundaries to stop them from achieving their person and educational goals!

About my class
