I teach second grade to some silly, sweet, bright, energetic, creative and caring kiddos! Lucky me! Our school is a Title I school with 70% qualifying for free and reduced-priced lunch. As a teacher, I see the challenges my students face on a daily basis. They may come to school worried, tired, and/or hungry. I want them to feel safe the moment they enter our classroom. It is important for me to instill a sense of community and belonging, while still exposing students to as many learning opportunities as possible throughout the day. No matter their background or previous experiences, my students all deserve engaging opportunities to continue on their learning journey! I want them to have the skills to be successful learners throughout life! They are our future and I want to provide each child in my classroom with what they need to reach their full potential.
