We Want to Move it, Move it!
Funded Mar 27, 2018I could not be more grateful for the support and funds to make out PE dreams come true! Thanks to friends, family, and the generous donation from Ripple, my kids will finally be able to use equipment during PE! I've shared the wonderful news with my students this morning and they can't wait to play more games soon!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple and 8 other donors.A Little Extra Something for My Hardworking Students!
Funded Oct 23, 2017I cannot thank you enough for your contribution to our classroom community! In my classroom, I have 35 6th graders! With so many bodies in one classroom, it's often difficult to have everyone seating where they can access the front board (we have many students who have visual impairments or attention deficit hyperactive disorder). While I wish I could seat everyone in the front, it isn't possible. The addition of classroom clipboards has proved incredibly helpful for my kiddos. Many kids are now able to use a clipboard to move closer to the front of the room as well as being able to have more activities where students are not limited to their seats to engage in active learning.
Additionally, being able to co-create charts for visual aids has proven to be tremendously impactful for my kids. They often rely on these visual reminders to be able to remember key academic vocabulary and how to apply it to their learning. Thank you so much for helping us learn, grow, and succeed!”

Becoming Strong Students and Building Foundations in Middle School!
Funded Sep 10, 2017After a few months of receiving this DonorsChoose project, my students have already been able to see the impact it's made. As a teacher in a diverse Title I school, I often find myself needing to provide differentiated instruction to students who either need more support and/or English Language Learners. Being able to integrate different methods of delivering information has proved to be greatly impactful.
Each week, I try to integrate some kind of kinesthetic group activity--often a gallery walk or carousel of quotes to get students to walk around the classroom and build their knowledge. Because I teach 6, 7, and 8th grade, I was often forced to skip these activities since I never had enough materials, namely chart paper because it's so expensive! Now, I can allow my students to engage more deeply by having them co-construct their knowledge. Additionally, speakers have enabled me to find online video clips for better visualization of ideas that tend to me more abstract, such as "The Hero's Journey", which my 6th graders struggled with until I was able to show them a video.
The snacks help keep my students full, focused, and motivated day in and day out! They were extremely excited about the cookies and fruit snacks.”
