    Thank you for your donation to the student reading library. My students have truly enjoyed learning more through their new books. Many of the books chosen provided students with a picture of themselves. The characters in the book are relatable to them and have allowed them to find new enjoyment in reading. Through our classroom set students have been able to find new ways to break down a novel, and how many of the lessons taught in the whole group can be used when reading our classroom novel. These new books have truly opened the door for my students, they are excited to read and look forward to finding new books that they can relate too.”

I strongly believe that books are a free ticket to the world. You can travel to Africa. You could learn about Malala and become your favorite wizard and still make it home to dinner in time. This project is more about expanding the love of reading for my students like it was for me. Through the pages of a book, a student can grow. As a young girl, my fifth grade teacher instilled the love of reading through Harry Potter. This one book turned me into a book worm. This is the same love I wish to instill in my students.

About my class
