Flexible seating has been proven time and again to help improve academic and behavioral learning among students! Especially for students who struggle with attending, such as students with ADHD, flexible seating allows students to meet their own sensory and movement needs throughout a class period. Having alternative seating options, such as bean bag chairs and exercise balls in my classroom will be invaluable to student learning. The ability to move around and wiggle without causing a distraction is huge for my students. Not only are they better capable of learning, they are practicing their own coping strategies, as well! This is huge for teaching kiddos the skills they need to be successful later in life.
