The goal is through the use of these materials students will gain the social skills needed for everyday living as well as foster the creative thinking skills to help them become better citizens and workers. Strong readers, strong minds, strong bodies!!! Students will be able to communicate their feelings and thoughts through dramatic play. After listening to the story of the week, students will use props and materials to role play and problem solve. With a listening center, students will be able to explore books and hear sounds that will help with brain development to increase awareness of sounds and be able to interpret the written and spoken language. As we are not always able to take students on a field trip after every lesson, students can use read along books and listen with headphones to expand their vocabulary and have their own little personal journey. A laptop is needed to help with videos that can be incorporated into the lessons as well. This will help with audio/visual learners. And through the use of manipulative play, students will gain muscle develovement that will aid the students ability to use correct penmanship.
