Maus: A Survivor’s Tale
Funded Oct 10, 2018Thank you so much for contributing to my project! My students enjoyed reading this novel. As part of the Holocaust unit, we explored the causes of the Holocaust, cultural perspective, and held high engaging class discussions. The students also did a rigorous analogy project using Maus. They created analogies for one of the characters and used textual evidence to support their claim. As you can see, this project aided my students in exploring an important part of history while applying strategies and methods to build knowledge and promoted higher level thinking. This project ensured that each student walked away with more tolerance and a better understanding of people.”

Funded Jan 26, 2018My students were absolutely thrilled when they found out that we were able to get, The Crossover books. The students are really enjoying our current poetry unit. They had no idea that a book could actually be written in poetic form. Another reason they are excited about the book is because it is a theme that relates to many of the students.
It is donors like you that are really making a difference for our students. As teachers, we strive to add interesting and high engaging lessons into our curriculum. It adds more value when we are able to have the right resources to impact student learning.
I am truly grateful for your generosity and dedication to education!”

Funded Sep 30, 2017My students are really enjoying the book, "The Outsiders". The students are engaged in the novel and are excited to come to class so that they can begin reading. It is truly amazing to see my students filled with enthusiasm and passion for this novel study. Several students have asked to bring the book home so that they can read more.
Another benefit of the novel study is that we were able to create neat character posters for the novel. The students really enjoyed using creativity to bring each character to life. The posters look great in our classroom and are a great way for us to reference characterization.
Thank you so much for ensuring that my students are able to partake in fun and engaging activities such as The Outsiders novel study! My students will truly benefit from the opportunity to read this novel while implementing reading strategies and literary devices.”
