  • "Learn(ing) the Subtle Science and Exact Art of Potion-Making" 2

    Funded Jan 20, 2025

Thank you so very much for your generous donation towards funding the materials for this magical potion-making experience for my precious kindergarteners! As you can see from the smiles in the photos I shared, my students enjoyed this project immensely.

It is so important to me each year to let my students know that yes, there are things I need to teach them, but that this is their classroom and they have a voice in their learning, too. We make a chart together of all the topics they would like to learn about, as well. Potion-making was one of those topics.

I connected the fun of potion-making to our math standards on volume/capacity, as well as to the scientific art of chemistry. The kids had an incredible time!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino

  • Engaging Tools Help Young Readers Learn

    Funded Apr 16, 2024

We cannot thank you enough for your generosity in helping our class with this project!

My amazing kindergarten students have been using these wonderful 4-letter word puzzles and decodable readers during our Literacy Centers time. It's incredible for me as the teacher to see how engaged my students are during the independent activity time of our Literacy Centers, and to know that while my kids are enjoying themselves they are truly practicing all the skills they are learning in class.

When the kiddos first saw them, they were so excited to use them!”

  • Representation in Picture Books Matter!

    Funded Jan 28, 2025

Thank you so very much for your incredible generosity in helping to fund these important books for my classroom! Making sure all my students see themselves in the books we read is so incredibly important. It is also important for my students to learn about other cultures, too, to help build a more inclusive world.”

  • Printmaking Masters

    Funded Sep 18, 2023

With your generosity in helping to fund this Printmaking Masters project, you were a part of bringing the art of printmaking into our classroom. We are an arts magnet school so we love to provide a variety of different opportunities for our students to engage with the arts. It was so fun to introduce printmaking to my students now, as well.

My students loved creating their own designs to make prints of and using the brayers was really exciting to them. What's even extra wonderful is that I can use these materials for years to come with students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino

  • Engaging Activities to Ignite Reading Enjoyment

    Funded Jul 31, 2024

Thank you so very much for generously donating to help fund these word building puzzles and word building magnet boards for my students! I introduced the three-letter word building puzzles this week for our CVC Word Families work and the kids love them! The kids build the words, read them out loud, and then practice their writing skills by writing them down on a special handwriting sheet. We will use the 4-letter word building magnet boards when we get to our Blends work.

These materials make for exciting and engaging activities for my students to love as they grow on their literacy journey.”

    Mrs. Trevino

  • Making Fine Motor Skills Work Fun

    Funded Oct 17, 2024

We cannot thank you enough for your incredible generosity in helping to fund these sand trays for our classroom. The kids love practicing writing their words in them! And, tactile opportunities for students to practice their budding reading and writing skills helps them master them quicker, so you have genuinely helped my students along their literacy journey in a very concrete way.

These sand trays will be used to help with learning letters, decodable words, and even heart words (what was once known as "sight words") during our small group literacy centers for years to come.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Trevino
