My classroom is a child centered environment focused on nurturing independence, building relationships, and strengthening critical thinking skills. It is a comfortable place for a diverse group of fourth graders. They enjoy playing games and working with others while learning new skills as much as they enjoy sitting in a snug spot while reading or writing. Learning to collaborate respectfully goes hand in hand with acquiring academic skills. Teamwork is key! Through the integration of technology, students create presentations that express individual or group perspectives. Becoming familiar with a growth mindset helps my students view challenges as part of the learning process. These vibrant fourth graders are creative, work hard, and have fun as they learn.
