Open Up Worlds of Adventures Through Books
Funded Aug 14, 2022Thank you for you generosity in providing my students with so many books. These books help encourage them to read because of the different genres and topics they now have access to.
The books you helped provide for my classroom will now allow many students to open worlds to many new adventures. Many will never get far from our small town. With these books, they are able to have opportunities and learn about our world.
You have made many children happy with the purchase of these books. I cannot thank you enough for sharing this experience with my students.”

A Sanitized Classroom for My Scholars
Funded Dec 4, 2021Thank you so much for the sanitary wipes. We are currently eating breakfast and lunch in the classroom, so they help clean up messes easily. I am a first grade teacher, so many things we do are hands-on. The sanitary wipes help us to constantly keep our areas clean. COVID is still running rapid with new strands being reported constantly. The sanitary wipes help my students and I to keep germs at a minimum. It really means a lot to me to know that so many people care about my students' health and education.
You guys are all truly angels on earth!”

Funded Jul 22, 2021Thank you so much for the outpouring of love for my students. I believe that all students are scholars. With the help of this project, students are able to see visuals of lessons as well as complete hands-on activities.
My students have so much potential and these items help me to meet their needs in different ways. The drawers are giving us plenty of space to keep things separated and organized. The post-it notes are allowing me to make anchor charts for my students as well as let my students complete activities using "big paper".
Again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

Funded Jul 12, 2021Thank you so much for your generosity in making this project come to life. These colored folders have helped my students be more organized by having a different colored folder for each subject.
The students are able to keep work and papers separated with the use of the colored folders. When it comes to notes, assignments, or things that need to be sent home for parents to see, the students know exactly which folder(s) to place in their backpack. It also helps when I ask them to pull out their reading/language folder, etc. They already know which one to grab.
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for making this project a success.”

Funded Jul 24, 2020Thank you for your wonderful donation. The school I am teaching in is 100% virtual for at least the first nine weeks of school.
With the chart paper, and markers, I am able to make anchor charts for my students to visually see. I use the magnetic letters and board to help with building words. This allows the students to make, build, and read words from the computer.
I have seen so much interaction via the computer with these items than I thought I would. These items have helped my students to still be able to interact as well as learn virtually.
Again, thank you!”

Funded Dec 3, 2019Thank you so much for your generosity in helping to provide my students with materials to help them succeed. Using the big chart paper, I am able to create anchor charts for my students to help them with introducing new skills.
We use the privacy boards when testing to keep our tests covered. This helps me to see what each child knows as opposed to students copying answers. The crowns are being used for the king and queen of the jungle. The king is the boy who earns the most 100s on weekly tests. The queen is the girl who earns the most 100s on weekly tests.
With the magnetic wipe boards, I am able to write the weekly standards/ skills for the students to see. With this, it is easier for my students to understand what they are studying in class each week or unit”

Funded Jun 18, 2019The listening center that you all have helped furnish to my classroom is so helpful with my students being able to hear fluent reading. It is important for students to hear fluent reading, so that they are able to acquire it as well. They can always listen to me read fluently, but to hear others on recorded cds read to them, brings reading and excitement to a new level. My students love going to the listening center to see what story or person would be reading to them this week. The generation that we have now loves technology, so what better way to encourage that love of technology than by them using technology to listen to someone read to them. Sometimes the students use the listening center to echo read. They listen as the person reads to them, then they echo the sentence with the same fluency. It is important to have a love of reading, and with this listening center, my students are able to find what helps them to love reading. Some of the stories are funny; some are serious. But either way, the students love it. I am truly thankful for each person helping to purchase a listening center for my classroom. Because of you, each child has opportunities to hear reading that is adventurous, spontaneous, and all around fun.
Thank you all for helping my students to build a love of reading using the listening center.”

Encouraging Better Readers
Funded Aug 23, 2018Thank you so much. My students enjoy learning many of our skills using these texts. We have been working on characters and setting, sequencing, fact or imaginary, and making predictions. These texts are both informational as well as literature, so I am to give students the opportunity to learn to love to read both types of text.
Reading in my classroom is full of excitement. We get all over the room when reading. Some may get to sit on the bean bags; some get to sit on the carpet. But one thing we do engage on together is the book. We always come back together to discuss what the books are about. My students are Kindergarteners, and at this point, many can not read. So I group people together who can read. I also encourage my students to take picture walks through the book. This helps them build their own story through their imagination.
There are several students who absolutely enjoy the books. I notice during our "reading time", these students will hold the books up, like they are reading to someone, and make up an entire story based on the pictures. They enjoy playing teaching with these books.
I am so thrilled to see the excitement on my students' faces when it comes to reading! Thank you all for helping to make this possible.”
