  • Make It Count

    Funded Mar 25, 2022

You have given my students a chance to learn how to use calculators to prepare for their Math State Test as well as their regular classroom tests. Students had an opportunity to work out more complex math problems and explore different options on the calculator. It was amazing to watch how gratified kids were to compare their answer found without a calculator to the answer that they have gotten using one and getting their original answer confirmed by using a calculator. This helped so much, especially to kids who aren't comfortable with mental math, calculators gave them confidence to work out same problems as their classmates'.

    Thank you again.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Reiss

  • Printing Necessities

    Funded Nov 17, 2019

Thank you for your generous gift to my students and mine "Printing Necessities". We are thrilled to have your support. Through your donation we have been able to accomplish last minute printing for extra practice, fun activities, and projects and continue working towards improving our knowledge of mathematics and relating it to the real world outside of school settings. Students are able to print their projects and share them with the rest of their class. You truly made the difference for us, and we are extremely grateful!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Reiss

In today’s world, students are at the forefront of a technological based world. Students often complete their assignments online and type up most their work. However all that is stored digitally and some students do not have the opportunity to have their work printed out. As a title 1 school, most of my students do not have their own printers at home. However, some students prefer to write on paper than working on the computers. By having a printer that is accessible to all students, learning will become more powerful as they are able to print out their work. More so, the printer will also allow for students to print out their work, revise it and allow them to track their progress. I envision the printer in the back of my classroom, where students will be able to print out all their work as they see fit. Every child learns differently and having a printer available will help those who need a hard copy of the work.
