The transition from second grade to third grade is huge for children! They are going from learning to read to reading to learn. This means the curriculum is very heavy on informational texts, which are often very difficult for students to comprehend. In addition, third grade students are facing high stakes testing for the first time. To keep my students engaged in the learning process and relieve them of boring FSA-style passages, I would love to design some high interest (dare I say, FUN!) literacy centers using the materials requested. The "ready to go" guided reading centers are in full color, contain high interest passages, and cover the most important common core standards! Students will love forward to reading these. The comprehension question tubs will make reading more "hands-on" and allow students to respond to a variety of questions. The language arts practice cards will be used in our Skills centers to reinforce grammar and sentence structure. With your help, they will grow as readers, increase their achievement levels, and enjoy themselves along the way. Thank you for your support!
