My students are an eager group of scholars who are motivated to learn. They have a fervor for learning and enjoy learning through multiple avenues (music, dance, hands-on, project-based). My students come from a lower socioeconomic background where they face many challenges. My classroom serves as a save haven for many. The importance of education is highly stressed in my classroom, and students have clear expectations. Thus, my students take ownership of their own learning, thus helping to build independence and character organically. In my classroom it is stressed that each student is uniquely designed and that they have something to contribute. No matter the obstacles they face outside the class, I stress that we all strive to be the best we can be every single day. I genuinely love teaching, but I value the lessons learned from my scholars.
