  • Picture Worth a Thousand Words

    My Kindergarten students and I were so excited to receive the Fuji Film cameras to use in our classroom. Immediately upon receiving the Fuji Film cameras we got busy using them to help us capture special moments and help us stay on topic while writing.

    During Christmas we had "Santa's' Elf" Jingles visit our classroom. Every morning the students would take turns taking pictures of Jingles and his new shenanigans. We then used the pictures to write and keep a daily journal. Since then we have used it to capture how the schools garden is growing and changing as well as be able to capture memories of our class play.

    I am overwhelmed by the generosity of Chevron and Verizon and will be capturing memories with my students for many more years to come because of it.”

As a new school year approaches, I would love for my students to have an inviting place to sit on. An area that is not only comfortable and inviting, but would help transport them to a magical world because there is something very magical about sitting around the carpet and listening to the teacher project theatrical voices bringing stories to life. Stories are the bridge between classroom connections, the world and beyond. Engaging young learners and feeding their enthusiasm comes naturally, but having a comfortable and inviting area where young learners can sit and transport themselves to the wonders of a story, adds joy to the heart of every one. My future students need a magical carpet to sit on, to be able to transport themselves to new adventures. With your generosity many new and great adventures await them!
