Newsweek for Pre-K Speak
Funded Dec 3, 2018Thank you, thank you, thank you! The children love to read their special newspapers and they are learning so much. It makes each child feel so grown up and they are eager to begin reading. The children light up when it time to read their newspapers.
The children will learn about holidays, current events, feelings, other people, and the world about them. It is a fun but educational way to learn! The newspapers are giving the children a chance to speak in class and orally discuss the news. The children are also able to follow the simple text and this is building their reading skills.
I am so thankful to all of you for giving my young students the opportunity to gain new information and to be given the chance at becoming successful future readers. The children love their new magazines an they feel really "grown up" completing the short question answer section on the last page. It is so rewarding to see the children grow in leaps and bounds physically, mentally, and emotionally and your donation will certainly help in the development of my little ones”

The Sound of Music in PreK
Funded Oct 12, 2018I am writing to thank you for the wonderful CD player that you have purchased for our classroom. The children listened to the story, "Three Little Pigs" today and the children were fascinated. The children then drew a picture about the story using crayons and markers.
They also retold the story in their own words. The children enjoyed listening to soothing music at rest time on our new CD player.
The children love reading the books and are having many wonderful learning experiences. Tomorrow, we are going to listen to the story "Three Little Kittens" and I am certain that this story will truly capture their attention. We listened to music today while the children played in centers and it made our day a "magical" one. The children will have the opportunity to listen to many stories throughout the year and as many times as they like. I know that the children will be learning and enjoying the experience at the same time.
Thank you so much for the CD player. I will now be able to share stories and different types of music with dozens of children for many years to come. Thank you for your concern and generosity.”

Pre-K Bugs Galore
Funded May 8, 2018The children were completely engaged and in learning about the insects that visited our classroom. When the children are engaged, I believe I will keep their interest which will lead to a strong foundation in early childhood science. The Alley Pond Environmental Center truly made nature come alive.
The best part of the program was when a bearded dragon was given a cricket to eat. The children were totally fascinated! The children learn best through experiences that are integrated and were they use all five of their senses. They learned about the different characteristics of insects and their habitats. This experience enriched our preschool program and the children had a wonderful time. Thank you for helping us explore science right here in our classroom.
This was an experience the children will never forget. I have yet to meet a child who was not interested in "bugs." This experience may lead to a lifetime of learning in exploration and discovery. Thank you so much!”

Funded Apr 16, 2018Thank you so much, for caring enough about my young students to donate these materials for our preschool classroom . We use a lot of paint and art materials during the year and we constantly need more. Art is a big part of our day and the children are always curious and ready to invent.
It is so important to give young children an opportunity to be creative and use their imaginations. The children are so proud of their work at this age and this is so important for their self-esteem. The children will learn through these hands-on art activities and will be given a chance to explore the world around them.
Thank you both again for choosing our proposal. We are an enthusiastic group of preschool children and we love to create beautiful masterpieces. These art materials will definitely ignite their creativity and give them the chance to use their little imaginations. You have both made a big difference in the lives of 18 preschoolers!”

Tales for Tots
Funded Mar 9, 2018I want to thank you all for the new transportation books and the book bags. The children will love to read the books before they lay down to take a nap or on the carpet as a whole group. It is so important to read to children and colorful books will make it even more engaging for our four year olds.
The children will enjoy bringing books home each week in their new colorful book bags. These book bags will encourage them to read and will give them a sense of responsibility as they will have to return them each week for new books.
Thank you all so much for your generosity and for caring enough about children to fund this proposal. Stay tuned for photos of the children reading their new picture books. Once again, I cannot thank you all at the Hagedorn Foundation for your concern for our wonderful group of four year olds. Thank You all for your generosity.”

Funded Dec 22, 2017I want to thank all of you for funding my proposal for new comfy blankets for our pre-kindergarteners. I gave our mats a good cleaning and I was very excited about the children getting to use their new flannel blankets.
I also have a stuffed animal for each child to use with their cozy blanket. All children love to snuggle at naptime and these new flannel blankets will give the children a better rest period. I will wash the blankets when necessary and keep them in good condition.
Thank you all so much for your generosity and for caring enough about children to fund this proposal. I hope you enjoy our photos of the children resting peacefully. Once again, thank you.”
