Chemistry Matters!
Funded Sep 3, 2023Getting our hands on materials for lab fun has been a total game-changer for us students. Thanks to those grant materials, we've dived deep into nuclear chemistry in ways we never thought possible. We're not just reading about atoms and molecules, we're seeing the magic happen. The gear we've got makes our experiments feel real and exciting.
But it's not just about playing with cool toys. These lab activities have turned our classes into teamwork central. We're solving problems together, thinking critically, and applying what we've learned in class to real-life situations. It's not just learning for the sake of passing a test; it's learning for life.
And you know what's even cooler? The impact doesn't stop at the classroom door. This grant has opened our eyes to careers we never knew existed. It's about getting ready for a future where we can be the scientists and innovators the world needs and not just passing the class.
So, big thanks for making learning hands-on, exciting, and setting us on a path to becoming the next generation of science rockstars!"”

This classroom project was brought to life by Colorado Department of Education.Calculators for Chem
Funded Oct 14, 2017These calculators have been a great addition to the classroom. Calculators are such a crucial tool in chemistry throughout the entire year, but especially during second semester. We have been using them everyday since school started up again in January.
Having scientific calculators every day in class makes it easier for students to get comfortable performing calculations. Without calculators, they often use their phones as calculators, which they can't use on tests. When they get to the test, students then spend a lot of time just calculating answers. These calculators make it one less thing to stress about during the test.
Many of my students can't afford their own calculators for school. They are so appreciative that they have calculators to use every day. Many have really become experts in solving stoichiometry problems thanks to the ease of using the calculators.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bevan
