My students gather on our classroom rug several times a day for read alouds, buddy reading, math lessons, and our morning meetings. My students need a new rug to replace our faded, worn, and uneven rug. I have been there for 17 years and the rug was not new when I got there. Our classroom rug is where the "magic" happens! It's the place where a lifelong love of learning is sparked, friendships are made, and concepts are understood. The new alphabet activity rug will provide my students with a clean, comfortable, well-defined personal space that is inviting, as well as engaging. The rug will also serve as a learning tool because it has a space for each letter and a picture that begins with that letter. With your help, my students can have a clean, new rug so that our gathering place can be as beautiful as the learning that takes place there.
