Increasing Student Engagement During Small Group Instruction
Funded Jan 5, 2018My students and I are extremely grateful for your generous donations to our classroom. Your donations have allowed us to have a variety of high-interest center activities, such as Power Pen cards and pens to complete during small group instruction. In addition, it has helped me successfully manage my students during rotations! Upon opening our box of resources, students were eager to begin using the resources! The expressions on their faces were priceless!
Independent reading has changed drastically! Students are excited to close read using a dry erase marker as they annotate the text! In addition, they love reading passages in the content areas! This resource has opened my eyes in realizing how many future scientists we might be expecting in the future! Their favorite resources is definitely the hot dots, in both literacy and mathematics! ! Who knew a pen that makes noise when getting an answer incorrect or correct can be so motivating! This resource has allowed my students to increase their number fluency and self-monitor their work (without asking me if they are completing the task correctly!). Students are enjoying the hot dots kit to review their skills as I work with students on skills in required strengthening. I know they will rock and roll on their math state assessments in 2.5 weeks!
Once again, my class and I thank you for allowing learning to be fun, engaging and motivating!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lauria
