  • Efficiently Charging

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

We have enjoyed having our charging station so much! I can't express enough how much the charging station has streamlined our afternoons! Something as simple as a place to charge our Chromebooks neatly has help keep the chaos down before leaving each day! We are so grateful for a place to charge ALL of our computers at once, it has made quite the difference! Time is the most valuable thing when you are trying to teach students and this has saved us so much time.

Thank you so much from each one of my second graders!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilkins

  • The More We Learn Together, the Happier We'll Be!

    Funded Sep 20, 2022

The excitement on my students faces was very apparent when we received these materials. They were so excited especially for the different building toys!

This year I have been able to implement "soft starts". When students come in instead of doing morning work they are able to do something more hands on and fun, to make the transition to the day a little easier. We have used the materials each morning as they come in. Using these materials sets the tone for the rest of the day!

Thank you so much for your generous donations. They have made a positive impact on my students.”

  • Books, Books, Books

    Funded Jan 26, 2018

Seeing my students so excited about new books has made me so excited! My students enjoyed seeing the UPS man bring new books, each day being like Christmas morning!

Using these books my students have been able to explore new topics in reading. Recently we were able to read a rhyming book about simple machines, and another day we were able to discuss being a good citizen through discussing "What if Everybody Did That". My students have used these books to not only practice fluent and accurate reading but also discover more about content that they are interested in.

Also, receiving the bean bag chairs were like the "cherry on top" of an already sweet sundae. My students use the bean bags daily to sit and cuddle up with a classmate and a good book. I hope that my students remember how much fun they had sitting with a book and reading and that they always want to sit and read.”

  • Making Room for Everyone at the Carpet

    Funded Dec 31, 2017

"Wow!", "That's so cool!", "This is so comfortable!"

Those are just some of the expressions said when my students got to sit on our carpet for the first time.

We've had our classroom carpet for some time now and I can honestly say we use it every single day. We have used our carpet to sit and discuss current events, we have used our carpet to practice area and perimeter, and most importantly we have used our carpet to spend time with one another.

As a teacher, nothing warms my heart more than bringing my students together and watching them enjoy their time at school and with each other. I know for years to come I will use this carpet as a meeting place and a place where my students can learn, discuss and grow.”

  • A Table: Cause for Collaboration!

    Funded Nov 21, 2017

This is just a small letter of appreciation for what you have given towards my classroom. The smiles on my student's faces when they walked in and saw our new table was worth more than gold! They were so excited to use it and quickly all wrote their names on it!

We are enjoying our marker board table so much! It has quickly become a favorite meeting place in our room. We use it almost daily at both reading and math center times. It is amazing how this table can make every lesson fun and engaging! We have been practicing showing multiplication facts in different ways, making Venn Diagrams to compare different texts, and of course, writing our ideas and thoughts down as much as possible... All directly on the table!

We will continue to use the table as much as possible. I am working on lessons that incorporate the table and constantly thinking of new ways to use it. This table will impact all of my students in the years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wilkins

Walking down the hallway at our school you can often hear the students in my class talking. Most people would be surprised that my students are talking during centers but, together with my coteacher we encourage it! We often break our class into small groups and use small group instruction. We find that small group instruction benefits each student because they get to work closely with the teachers and each other!
