My students will utilize this new technology in many different ways geared towards the students' learning. They will be challenging themselves at their own pace. I want to implement a program in the classroom where students have several independent choices when using these pens. They can show their mastery of a topic by solving problems related to what is going on in the classroom and recording their strategies for solving the problems. Once recorded they can share these recordings so others can learn from their thinking. Other students can use the pens to record themselves solving a problem and then replay the recording for themselves while reflecting on the work they have done. Others yet can challenge themselves by diving into lessons ahead of where the rest of the class is that I have pre-recorded with practice problems. This will allow students to move at their own pace and discover new ways of learning for themselves.
The differentiation methods are endless and cover all levels of learner. Students can pace themselves with extra practice with reading passages and pre-recorded mini lessons on specific topics of need as well. I will have pre-recorded lessons on the topics of the day for students to listen to on their own to make up for days missed or simply to receive extra practice on topics they find more difficult. In a classroom there are students of all different levels and I hope to reach all students with the use of this technology.
Please help me give my students their best chance at closing gaps, challenging their learning and engaging in independently driven learning. -
