  • Math Fun

    Funded Jan 11, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity to the students in my classroom. The bug counters and big buttons have been a great addition to our math center. The students have been able to work on so many skills while using them. We are able to sort, make a pattern, count them and discuss their features while in small group. Our new ink pads have been great during small group as well. They have allowed us to work on one-to-one correspondence while making art at the same time. Without donors like yourself we would not be able to enjoy these wonderful items in our classroom.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Del Palacio

  • Lets Make Some Books

    Funded Aug 13, 2021

Thank you so much for helping our class get the materials that are needed to help create adaptive books for our classroom. Interactive books are a great way for our students to work on so many skills while in whole group as well as small group. By creating our own books we are able to find a simplified story that also has matching story pieces for our students to match. Some books we are able to find the pieces and adapt the storybook that we already had with the materials that we received thanks to generous donations.”

  • A Love for Reading

    Funded Dec 31, 2019

These books made such an impact with my students. They love stories but these stories quickly became favorites. We read them every few weeks and my students are excited every single time. Because many of the books have repetitive text, my students are familiar with what comes next. I was also able to make adaptive pieces to several of the books so while we read them, we are able to work on matching. Many students also love to sit and look at the pictures when story time is finished. Because of your generosity, my students have new favorite books in our library.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Del Palacio

  • Adapted Books

    Funded Apr 28, 2021

Thank you so much for the gift card to teachers pay teachers. With it I was able to get so many new, adaptive books for my students. Several books are used during our literacy and math circle times and focus on letters, numbers, shapes and colors. I was also able to get many books to go along with many themes that we learn throughout the year. These books have a simplified language to help us learn the content. They are shorter than the typical book and are just right for us. We could never thank you for what your simple act of kindness meant to us.”

  • Fine Motor Skills

    Funded Mar 23, 2019

Thank you so much for the art supplies and writing paper. My class enjoys making new creations so a new set of wiggly eyes has definitely come in handy already. We also love to use the eyes during Halloween so that we can count how many eyes our spider has. No two spiders are the same.

Handwriting is a big part of our day -- from learning how to write our names to sight words. Our handwriting paper helps us learn the size of our letters as well as the way the paper should be placed on the table.

    Thank you so much.”

  • Counting and Sorting Fun

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

Thank you so much for the teddy bear counters and pattern blocks. My class is always excited to see new items to help us make learning fun. Our teddy bear counters have helped us in so many ways. We are able to sort them by size and color, order them from tallest to smallest or the other way around. We are also able to simply count them or make a pattern with them.

The class also enjoys the new pattern blocks. They love using photo mats to make various pictures and creating their own pictures. They are able to use them to make patterns and sort as well.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

  • Let's Make Some Projects

    Funded May 29, 2018

My class cannot express enough gratitude for the items that we received. We love building things with the play sticks. Sometimes the students use the design cards that came in the box and other times we use our imagination to see what we can create. We have been able to use our play sticks to help the class learn to sort by color and by size. The class has also used the play sticks to build their names so that they work on spelling of their names. The alphabet beads have been a huge hit in the classroom as it gives us another way to practice spelling our names and sight words. Our class is always grateful for the items that we have received from generous donors.”

  • Math Fun

    Funded Mar 13, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to my class. The tens frames have been such a blessing. We love using different manipulatives to work on one-to-one correspondence. We use them in whole and small group activities. With our unifix cubes we are able to work on so many concepts and have enough for everyone to use at the same time. We love to sort the cubes into different colors, make patterns with them as well as number towers.

We also enjoying using the single line dry erase boards. They are great to help us work on writing our name, letters as well as sight words.”

  • Fun Indoors and Out

    Funded Dec 26, 2017

Thank you so much for the new outside toys. Our students really enjoy spending time outdoors with friends. Having more outside equipment has helped our students burn off some extra energy they have. They enjoy kicking the various sized balls to their friends.

We have also enjoyed the new sensory sand that we received. We enjoy building with the sand and seeing our creations stay until we make a new item.

When our box arrived with the new items, our students were so excited to see what was inside. I let the items in the box be a surprise so the students were even more excited to see what was inside. They ask everyday for us to bring the balls outside.”

  • Budding Artists In Pre K

    Funded Oct 12, 2017

My class is so excited to have paint supplies readily available to them. It has definitely allowed us more opportunities to make art projects come to life instead of just using crayons and colored pencils. Everyday they ask me if they get to paint -- We try to paint once a week if not more. Paint has allowed us to make projects for their keepsake books as well as being able to work on one-to-one correspondence by using our fingertips in math.

My class was so excited when their box arrived. I did not tell them ahead of time what was coming other than they would love it. Once we opened it, they were so happy. Thank you again for your generosity.”

I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creatives and meaningful experiences in the classroom. My students need games and activities that will not only work on letter recognition and writing skills, but also math manipulatives. My students will use these materials to build, count, make sounds and practice fine motor skills which is key to writing. These activities will be used during Center time as well as small group instruction. Several games will be used during whole group and small group. Your generous donation to our project will help to improve the Pre-K students by building strong readers and writers later on in school.
