I am requesting different seating options for my class to help them optimized their own learning. Research has proven that children need to move and also be comfortable to help them focus on their lessons and improve their work. Flexible seating options will allow my students to further their learning by choosing the right kind of seating, much like we choose the right book for reading! Flexible seating is a key to improving student learning and also self monitoring of ones learning. Think about how you perform at your best...Are you sitting in a hard chair that may or may not be too tall/short? Are you being forced to sit when you are more comfortable laying? Many children learn in different ways, just as we find comfort in different ways. I want my children to have the choice in their comfort so they can share their best work and learn as much as they can without them being uncomfortable.
