Music Instruments for our Special Learners

Funded Feb 7, 2010

Once again, that you all so much for donating to my cause. Because of you, my students are going to be given more opportunities to learn in my classroom that would not have been available without your support.

As mentioned, my school focuses on mostly on students with autism and down syndrome. Because of this, my students face many challenges in their everyday life such as: physical problems, ability to control their emotions, inability to communicate effectively or at all. Naturally, these challenges make learning in the music classroom more difficult than in a regular inclusion classroom. By using instruments, my students will learn about music and other life skills through music making. My students will learn such skills as: turn taking, sharing, communicating, accompanying with instruments, learning about beat, and composing with our instruments.

Thank you so much. You really have made such a big difference in my music classroom and my kids very much appreciate it. ”

With gratitude,

Mr. Wagner
