Violins for Special Education Orchestra
Funded Oct 22, 2018Thank you so much for helping to fund our project, and allowing our students to get brand new violins. They were so excited when the instruments came, and have already begun using them and making music with them.
Our instruments are going to allow our students, in our very unique school, to showcase the amount that they are able to learn, and make beautiful music at the same time. With these violins, our students are feeling empowered and modeling how all students can find success.
We truly thank you for your wonderful contribution.”

Music Stands for Special Needs Orchestra
Funded Mar 30, 2016Thank you so much for helping to fund music stands for my students. My students have actively been using them during each of our orchestra rehearsals, and I have seen my students become more: independent, proud, and successful just by this simple tool.
As my students are special learners, any opportunity to provide them with materials that allows them to become successful makes everything more meaningful and enriching. My students are aware of their successes, and this has helped boost not only their musical ability, but their self-esteem as well.”

Musical Instruments for Special Learners
Funded Jan 1, 2015Thank you so much for helping to fund this project, and make it come real for the students. They were so excited to come into the music room, and get to use brand new instruments. This will help their music making, music literacy, and making connections skills develop even further. I have watched how musical instruments have helped benefit their social, ELA, cognitive, and emotional skills. In addition, most importantly, making beautiful music with high quality instruments. From my classroom to you, many thanks!”

Tablets for Special Needs Music Class
Funded Sep 30, 2014Thank you so much for helping to allow this project to become possible. The tablets have been in my classroom for only two days now, yet my students are so excited and motivated when they enter my classroom. These have become a tool that no only allows deeper learning to occur, but provides opportunities for my students to succeed, where they normal would struggle. The tablets have already become tools to help my students learn to communicate better, develop deeper social skills, in addition to the important musical skills we are learning. Thank you again!”

Melodic Musical Instruments for Special Learners
Funded May 28, 2013Thank you so much for helping to fund this incredible project. My students are so grateful, and their learning experiences are clearly evident because of you. These new musical instruments have helped enhance their learning, creativity, and music-making skills. In addition, the keyboard has become a huge learning device in our classroom. Our keyboard is able to hook up to our computers, and therefor we are able to incorporate technology into our classroom. I have never seen my students so excited and engaged before. Once again, thank you so much for helping with this project!!!”

Melodic Instruments for Special Learners
Funded Dec 31, 2012Thank you so much for helping make our musical classroom become a reality. My students are all ecstatic at the opportunity of using new instruments, and being able to make wonderful music.
The instruments that you helped fund will serve several purposes for my students. While they will help provide opportunities for my students to become more musically literate, it will also help provide them with opportunities to practice with skills. All of the instruments will help with their occupational and physical therapy mandates. In addition all of the instruments are modified so that all students can find success with them.
Thank you again for helping. We cannot wait to share what beautiful music we are making.”

Musical Recorders for Special Needs Students
Funded Jul 3, 2012Thank so much for helping impact my classroom. We have already begun using the recorders in our music class, and my students are loving it. Because of you, they will be able to find many new successful opportunities in my classroom.
In addition to helping them create beautiful music, recorders are helping them with their every day needs. Most of my students receive speech and OT services. Using recorders, this is teaching them many basic life skills that they will need to use in the real world.
Once again, thank you very much!!!”

Shoulder Rests For Young Violinist's
Funded Mar 6, 2012I would like to cordially thank you all for helping support our funding of shoulder rests for our young violinists. Our students are thrilled to be using materials that will help benefit their playing ability, posture, and sound.
Already, we have seen how our students' posture has improved. This will overall affect their sound. Even the students have begun commenting on how much easier it is to hold the violin correctly with support. We cannot wait to showcase the amazing talent that we have to the rest of the world.
Thanks again!”

Drumming Instruments for our Special Learners
Funded Nov 22, 2010Thank you so much for helping make my project happen!!! We have already begun to use all of the materials that were purchased, and it has helped make our musical learning environment more meaningful, as well as fun.
Through the use of musical instruments, our musicians are able to learn many great skills. We have used the instruments to: accompany songs, write our own arrangements, learn to read music, as well as make beautiful sounds. Our musicians are also learning great life-long skills through the use of music, which will help them in the real world.
Thank you so much for making my students happy!!!”

Special Art Supplies for Creative Kids
Funded Mar 22, 2010The children learned so much from working with the wonderful clay, play-dough and tools that you donated. They were truly engaged by the materials, and we thank you so much for your generous donation to our school.
As you may remember, our school is an elementary D75 school. D75 is s Special Education District for children who need to be in self-contained classrooms, and have often multiple severe disabilities. Sensory material like clay are wonderful for our students, because they provide a sensory, artistic and educational experience. The tools enable the children to interact with the clay and play dough in a second way, after first working with their hands. The "cookie cutter" tools also add the element of shape recognition.
I had a wonderful break thorough with a student last week because of the clay and tools. The children worked with the play-dough, then I brought the jar of "cookie cutters" to the table. This boy selected a snowman, and proceeded, on his own to make a pile of snow with the clay. He than carefully rolled the rest of his clay flat with the textured rolling pin and cut out a snowman then announced "My snowman" with great pride. This is a child who almost never speaks spontaneously - truly a breakthrough facilitated by the materials you donated!”
