Books Galore!
Funded May 29, 2024Thank you for your generous support of our reading initiative! Your contributions have made a significant impact on our students' learning experiences.
In our classroom, reading is an interactive and engaging experience. Students participate in group discussions, partner readings, and creative projects that stem from their books. We have established a cozy reading corner where students can explore their interests. The classroom is filled with the sounds of enthusiastic conversations and the flipping of pages, creating a vibrant reading culture.
Thank you for believing in the power of reading and supporting our students' journeys. Your generosity is truly making a difference!”

Fuel the Brain!
Funded May 3, 2022Thank you so much for funding our project and providing snacks to over 150 students and many schools in my district. Thanks to your generosity students were able to enjoy the math competition with healthy snacks during after school hours.
Your kindness has helped not only my students, but also the families who were worried about providing food for their child. Your kindness and generosity has brought smiles to the faces of many children. During the math competition the auditorium echoed with cheers of joyful children excited to get treats.
Thank you for all your support and donations that helped to fuel the brains of young scholars!”

Funded Feb 9, 2022Thanks to you my students are able to use the wobble chairs as support to move and complete work. The wobble chairs has transformed the conventional seat into an encouraging active sitting, which enables students be comfortable and by changing positions in the classroom.
When my students saw the wobble chairs, their faces lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to try out the new chairs in our classrooms. On the first day, each student was given an opportunity to read on the wobble chairs. They were so engaged!
Now that we have the wobble chairs, students will be able to sit on them during independent work and during station time. Students can complete tasks while being able to move without being a distraction to themselves and others.”

Funded Aug 1, 2021Thank you so much for helping me provide supplies for my students. We are beyond grateful!
Thanks to your kindness my students had supplies on the first day of school without worrying about not being prepared. Your donations helped to fund supplies such as white boards, timers, dry erasers that students can use in many subjects. We first tested out the white boards during number talks. Students were able to express their thinking individually then with a partner. Students were excited to have their own individual boards they could write their ideas on.
For future projects, we're going to continue to use the timers to help with time management on focus when we are completing different tasks. The white boards will continue to be used during our number talks session.
Once again thanks so much for your act of kindness.”

Funded Nov 17, 2020Thank you so much for your contribution and helping my students and I to have a colored printer for our classroom. Thanks to your donations, students will be able to print out their work and have it displayed for their parents, peers and other teachers to see. For some of my students with a disability it appears they become more engaged when given a colored copy of the work instead of plain black and white. This year more than ever education is more challenging and because of your donation it helped to put a smile on my students faces.”

Funded Oct 22, 2020Thanks so much for your wonderful donations and rewarding our class with a class set of "Home of the Brave." Now that students have their own individual copy, we are able to follow safety guidelines due to Covid 19, which enables students to read the same book while maintaining social distance.
We are currently reading "Home of the Brave" for our first Reading Unit. In this unit students are learning to respond to questions from a text by using text evidence to support their answers. Students are also able to have meaning full discussions about the text.
Many of the students are enjoying the book because it's about an immigrant student getting acclimated to the US culture. "Home of the Brave" is a text that many of our students share similarities and also differences with the main character, Kek. Thanks to you our students can enjoy the gift a reading a meaningful text they enjoy.”

Funded Aug 13, 2019After a few weeks of our comfy chairs arriving it's apparent the difference it has made to the classroom environment. During independent reading and math, the students are excited to sit on the chairs and get some work done. Prior to receiving the chairs my students would only sit at their desk after a while the chairs become uncomfortable, and sometimes students rock back in those chairs which can be dangerous if it falls over. Now that we have the comfy chairs students are able to complete work and read a book in a more relaxing way. It's a great feeling to see my students reading and feeling more comfortable in their environment.
Thanks to you, my students are excited to begin independent work because they know they're able to spread out around the classroom and sit on the cozy chairs. When the chairs first arrived the students didn't know what to make of them, they were excited to see the different colors of green, blue, and orange chairs. Now students sit with a partner and work together. I even notice the improvement of classroom respect. Even though we have 3 cozy chairs, students seem to find a way to share by sitting in such a way that two of them can sit on each chair. I like that they are sharing and making sure that everyone in the classroom get an opportunity to sit on the cozy chairs.
Maybe in the future I'll come up with a system that can help each student know what day they can sit on the cozy chairs, but for now I'm enjoying the fact that my students are being problem solvers and trying to figure out a way to for themselves.
Thank you so much for my enhancing my classroom environment and helping my students feel a little more comfortable!”

Funded Nov 4, 2017After a few weeks of our low level, high interest books arriving, my students' interaction with reading has changed for the better. Prior to receiving the books my students would only go book shopping in our classroom library when I reminded them. However, now that we have books such as Fly Guy, Cam Jansen, A-Z Mysteries, and Pete the Cat my students are asking me to go book shopping. It's a great feeling to see my students in books they really enjoy.
Thanks to you, my students are reading books they understand. As students are reading, I hear them turning to a partner and sharing their favorite part. Students are thinking about the characters and the lesson they can take from the book to apply to their own lives. My lowest reader who always puts his head down during reading time, read not one, but TWO "Pete the Cat" books because it has sight words and pictures he can use to help him understand the text. Seeing my students engaged in their books and witnessing their reading levels improve is beyond rewarding.
Thank you so much for bringing back the spark of reading into my classroom!”
