Students love to relax and have a comfy seat when reading an exciting book. Our current reading center has a couple of small chairs which are always sought ought. Adding the two bean bag chairs to our room would allow students more options and could also be used as a reflection spot for when students need a break from the group. Adding interesting items to our learning centers help keep my students interested so they stay on task which improves learning and behavior. The globe is a much needed addition to our classroom. We had a globe in our classroom last year and it was well-loved but was accidentally broken. We use the globe for science when discussing the rotation of the earth and for social studies when learning about continents and different cultures. The dry-erase pockets allow centers to be kept neat and orderly without making lots of copies because multiple students can use the same worksheets enclosed in the pockets and then just wipe them clean so they are ready for the next group. Fun markers, paint-brushes and Magna-tiles will add diversity to the centers as students work on word work and story writing. They can use these items to create art and visuals for their writing.
