  • Deep Cleaned and Ready to Play in Pre-K!

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my project on giving Tuesday! With the matched donations I was able to get this funded and I am so excited to give our carpets a good steam clean to help kill germs and provide and nice clean carpet for the kids to learn and play on!”

    With gratitude,

  • Help My Pre-K Paint Their World!

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you again for the bottom in my heart for supporting my project to get a new paint easel on my preschool classroom. This brand new one that I was able to get is space saving and included the drying rack underneath which was an added bonus!

The kids love painting at the easel and it's great to develop their arm and shoulder strength to improve their fine motor skills, especially handwriting!

Some days the kids are instructed to paint certain objects (paint some fall leaves on a tree for example), but often the kids are given the time to freely paint and express what they are painting. We always love to see all the beautiful art work they make and they are always so proud! Thanks again!”

  • All the Feels! Social Emotional Health in Pre-K!

    Funded Aug 31, 2024

Thank you so much for supporting this project that I wrote for new social emotional support pieces for My Classroom. The kids loved searching for the different emotions and making matches while exploring the sensory take. The feelings mailbox's were used to sort how the kids feel when they might have to say goodbye to their parents, get a boo-boo, eat ice cream, etc.

I love all the new illustrations of feelings as well because the pictures show a multi-cultural mix of people so the preschoolers can look at pictures of people with their same skin color.

Lastly, these new sensory and social emotional toys and pictures have helped my students identified with special needs to work on their behaviorial goals. Thank you again!”

  • Let's Get Hands On With Science!

    Funded Jan 9, 2024

It is always a big day when we get a Donor's Choose box delivered to our classroom! The kids love seeing the new items for our room! The kids were so excited and screamed "YAY!" when they saw the new foam building blocks. During our dinosaur theme, I was so happy that this year the kids could pretend to be paleontologists and use tools to find a dinosaur in a egg. The kids were so excited to find their dino in their egg and take it home!

I am looking forward to our next theme that is coming up because donor's like you make it possible for my students to get very cool hands on experiences in science. During our insect theme, the students will get to find insects in amber! Another fun and messy activity purchased through Donor's Choose.

Again, from the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arotzarena

  • Creativity Art Supplies for My Pre-K Little Artists!

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you so much for funding my project to provide messy art materials for my preschoolers. They have enjoyed playing in the foam paint and making snowy scenes. The fake snow was such a hit to have sensory play in especially because he really didn't have a lot of snow this season in Northeast Ohio like we usually do. The letter beads were awesome because my students were able to make name bracelets while learning the letters in their name and reinforce their pincher grasp for fine motor skills.

I would not be able to provide my students with so many sensory and art activities without the generous donors!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Arotzarena

  • Let's Get Sticky In Pre-K!

    Funded Aug 6, 2022

Thank you so much for funding my project. My students were so excited to see all the fun new stickers to use! Using stickers for math activities, journaling, and sorting not only incorporate academics but also fine motor skills. My preschoolers need to continue to improve their finger strength and pincher grasp and they can do this by pulling stickers off a sheet of paper. When we first started these activities half of my students were no able to pull a sticker off. They call can do it now as they have improved in their fine motor skills. In a world full of iPads we have noticed our students not getting enough hands on activities at home before entering preschool so we have to play "catch up" once they enter preschool. Thank you again for your generous donations to make it possible to help my students fine motor skills improve!”

  • Helping My Preschoolers Spread Their Wings and Grow!

    Funded May 28, 2020

Thank you so much for supporting my project and bringing butterfly kits into each of my students home. Normally this is my end of the year project I do with my students in the classroom to watch caterpillars grow, make chrysalis, and become butterflies.

Since I teach in a inner city with poverty; butterfly kits aren't not something families would normally spend their money on them. All of my families were so happy and said they all had fun watching the transformation. It was a bright part of their quarantine they said. So again, I am so thankful!”

  • Keeping My Classroom So Fresh and So Clean!

    Funded Dec 26, 2019

I'm sorry this has taken me so long to write! Unfortunate due to the recent pandemic I was able to set up my roomba and use it the last day in my classroom as we were "closing up" uncertain for the rest of the school year. You will notice in the pictures that it is all of the preschool staff so excited to watch the roomba clean up! We literally were saying "there is no way it will go here" and it did! We loved how clean our carpets got. When we get back to school (I am still holding out hope for this year) we plan on naming the roomba and putting big googley eyes on it! LOL!

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart! I really appreciate the donations to get our roomba to keep our floor clean for our kiddos since most of our learning takes place on the floor!”

  • Meet Me at the Reading Tree!

    Funded May 20, 2019

When I first did a request for the reading bench and reading tree I never know how much of an impact this would be in the my classroom. My intention was to have a cute place for my students to read their books and relax, but the reading bench has turned into the are that my students enjoy for a variety of reasons.

The reading bench and tree has become the "calming corner" in my room. I have provided sensory bins of items that my students can use to calm down and relax when upset. During table top activity time, some of my students have also asked to sit on bench to do work versus sitting at the table.

My students also have time to do play educational apps on the IPads and they also like to sit and relax under the tree on the bench.

I also added twinkle lights to the reading tree and bench to give it soft and relaxing vibes in my classroom.

I never would of thought that this reading tree and bench would have been such a great addition to my classroom! Thank you so much!”
