For this project I am asking for stools and chair bands to shake up seating in our classroom. These young kids need the flexibility and movement that these furniture items can provide. Having to sit in a chair for any amount of time can be very difficult for young students but especially for those with ADD or ADHD. They need movement to stay focused! Chair bands are a simple way to keep students in their chairs when that is needed but also give them the opportunity to wiggle which their bodies desperately need. The stools would be an excellent resource for group work as they are easy to pull out and move around to various locations allowing students to work together. Students need options, not only in learning styles but also in seating styles. This project is the beginning of building flexible seating in my classroom and meeting needs of various learners and learning styles.
