Ink and Paper for Printing!
Funded Jul 4, 2018I teach special education history and English and you cannot understand how helpful the color ink, black ink and the paper has been. I was very excited to know that my project had become funded in the summer and that we were going to have the materials to start up the year. My students have learning disabilities and being able to print in color their paragraphs have made them very excited. They can differentiate parts of their paragraph by color coding them and they see their work become more professional.
When the school year started and I told them we had been donated ink and paper they were very excited. They could not believe someone would donate ink and paper. Once, we began our writing routines they began to express they could not wait to type and print their paragraph. They also, like that they could have access to the paper and ink as needed. As, a teacher I can print decodable books at their level and not have to worry that I was not going to have the necessary supplies to start off the year. The supplies made the start school year a good one and my students appreciated them so much.”

Classroom Printer Needed!
Funded Feb 9, 2018I currently teach special education history and English and you cannot understand how helpful a color printer is for my students. My class has a range of disabilities that would benefit from different modalities of expressing themselves. This can be them typing and printing their final work. It also, can involve doing a research project and being able to print what they need to assist them. Everyone is creative in their own way but allowing them to print give and extra push to my students. Some students cane become embarrassed since they don't have the appropriate manuscript skills or they are not great artist. Having paper on hand is a big deal and my students know it. We constantly recycle paper but is nice to know we have a box to use for their personal needs. The extra ink will be great for when we ran out since we will already have it in the classroom. The flash drives are going to be very helpful when saving the students work.
My students as well as myself were so excited to have learn our project was founded. They could believe people would actually take the time to donate to our class. They had so many questions. Some students wanted to know when can they start using it while others were honest and stated they wanted to learn how to use it. They are excited to finish their assignment and look forward to typing it and being able to print. To them printing documents for their research projects.
Some of my students are very excited in using it. They feel this printer will allow their work to look neater and more presentable. A few of my students do not have difficulty with letter formation and their first reaction was that their work will be nice. It is nice to hear how my students are excited and can't wait to use it. Thank you one more for the printer it will allow my students to print however, as a teacher I get to print their level reading books with the paper I received. With the flash drives we can save documents as we only have one laptop and some students take longer to type. Thank you for taking the time to help out my students.”

Technology For Publishing Writing And Reading Level Books
Funded Dec 18, 2017In my classroom, we did not have technology that my students could access that would allow them to type or read level books. My class has a range of disabilities that would benefit from different modalities of expressing themselves. Many of my students lack fine motor skills which prevent them from publishing a near final draft. We been working so hard in creating paragraphs that it gives me joy when they can type and be proud of their final product. At times, they would be embarrassed of their writing but now it will be different.
The students and myself are excited to have a Chromebook. The majority do not have access to technology like this one at home. They have not had the chance to learn and grow their 21st century technology skills. They are excited to finish their assignment and look forward to typing it. It gives them a sense of accomplishment when they see their final product typed out in the screen.
Some of the students even started thinking beyond typing their paragraphs. They are excited to learn how to type. They want to do research for our history class. They see it as an opportunity they never had. Some stating they have never used a Chromebook but are excited to learn how to use it. I cannot say thanks enough for your generous donations and you have made my class so happy and excited to start using technology.”
