Color Printer For Teen Magazine
Funded Oct 23, 2013Most students will take for granted what is given to them in a High School. When my students learned at the beginning of the year that our resources for equipment and supplies will be limited by
budget cuts they felt cheated and disrespected by a system that they have been part of their academic lives.
The students were very surprised when new printer arrived in our classroom. They assumed the school purchased it for them, when I explained to them, that our alumni, some of whom are not much older than they are donated their money so they could have new equipment.
We reviewed the lessons of charity and how it is important to help this who are in need and to never forget where you came from. Because of this generosity my students have been able to complete tasks that needed printing much easier without the stress of now knowing they don't have the resources at home or at their school.
Many assignments that would never have been submitted on time are now happily submitted by the students.
The overall message and lesson for my students is one of helping and of paying back. Donorschoose has allowed my students to see that others have walked in their shoes, done more with less and were once in need of help. One day several of my current students will be the ones helping those who follow in their footsteps. Never forget where you came from if so you will never know where you are going”

Print For Success, The Story of a Needed Printer
Funded Dec 29, 2009Towards the end of 2009, our printer gave out and we asked Donors Choose to help us by finding someone who would be willing to provide funds for a new printer. In no time, we received the funds and then the printer, because of this generosity, our virtual business has been flourishing ever since. With this new printer we were able to conduct a successful fundraiser which helped benefit our upcoming trade fair. The printer played a significant role in this fundraiser because we sold VValentine's Day cards and used the printer to produce the 160 card orders we received.
My students and I would like to thank you wholeheartedly for supplying us with this printer. We deeply appreciate your efforts in helping us to receive it as fast as we did. In running a virtual business, a printer is an essential part of each day. Not only have the students used the new printer for their fundraiser, trade fair and other competitions but for such daily tasks as printing journals, checking account balances, sign-in sheets and other day to day business orientated jobs.
Once again, thank you for your generosity and most of all help in a
time of dire need! ”
With gratitude,
Mr. McCormack
