    Funded May 25, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation. My students are going to have so much fun with their nature journals. After our virtual year it is so important to me that they have experiences exploring outside. I know they are going to love them. THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH!”

Thank you for your generosity! I know my students will love to use these items during their summer break. I can't wait to share pictures of the items! My students have worked so hard this year and I am so happy that I have donors who want to give back to them!”

  • MoRe Festive Gifts for First Graders!

    Funded Nov 30, 2020

Thank you so much for the support and love you have shown to my students this holiday season. I loved putting together all the gift bags and most of all, delivering them to my students. They were so excited about the books and legos the most. I even had a parent tell me that her son slept with his legos! I can't wait to get back to our virtual classroom so they can also use their new whiteboards, markers and headphones. I truly appreciate you and all you have done for me and my students. I couldn't have done it without you! Happy holidays!”

  • Lap Desks for Flexible Seating

    Funded Dec 28, 2017

Since receiving the Lap Desks in my classrooms my students have used them every single day! They love having the option to sit at one of our "flexible seating" choices during free choice or during our structured stations.

When we first opened them my students were so excited and wanted to test them out right away! Each student had a chance to sit on a lap desk and we talked about the proper way to use them. Students are even held responsible for putting them away in our designated area after they are done using them.

These lap desks have added more to our "flexible seating" choices and have even increased student motivated to complete work when they get the option to choose a lap desk! They have had such a positive impact on my classroom culture and environment. Thank you so much for your generosity! It surely goes a long way!”

  • The Tablet Project

    Funded Jun 29, 2017

Since receiving the tablets for my Kindergarten classroom I have been able to use them both for academics and as a rewards system. In order to build their literacy skills, my students have been practicing letter recognition, handwriting and are improving their listening skills through the free applications I have downloaded. In regards to math, students have been able to practice forming numbers as well as improve their number sense.

As an incentive my students view the tablets as a "reward." I have noticed that my students are more focused and efficient when completing their work when they have the option to use tablets when they are finished. We have had class discussion about being responsible citizens when using the tablets and taking care of them. For the future, I am looking forward to downloading applications that translate stories from Spanish to English in order to further support my 5 Spanish speaking students.

Thank you so much for thinking of my students and providing them a way to enhance their academic experience. It means a lot to me and to the families of my students to know that we have people like you supporting us every step of the way! Many thanks from the Fisher Flamingos of Room 102!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wiederkehr

The tablets that I am requesting for my students will have a "home" in our already established classroom library. These devices will be used during small group literacy stations to enhance and reinforce basic foundation skills when learning to read and write! In order to keep these tablets in the very best condition, they will each have a case to protect the screens and tablet itself. The donations for this project will help students build on their language, literacy, and math skills by keeping them engaged and excited about their learning. For example, higher level students will be able to choose from a variety of online stories that will challenge them. Lower level students will be able to practice concepts such as letter sounds while listening to the sounds being taught! ESL students will also benefit from these tablets by engaging in applications that help improve their social and academic language. These tablets will also be used during math stations in which students will rotate through to practice basic math skills such as patterns, number recognition, addition, and subtraction. Through the use of these tablets, students will begin to experience student-centered learning that is challenging and differentiated towards specific student needs.
