Guitars For Young Rockers!
Funded Oct 11, 2023With your generous support, we brought brand new guitars into my classroom at P.S. 92. Your donations helped transform music education for hundreds of students, and will continue to benefit many more students for years to come. Their reactions upon seeing the guitars for the first time were priceless, a mix of wonder and excitement. It was only uphill from there as they gained new skills in musicianship and musical literacy with the guitar as their vehicle for growth. Some of our fifth graders became so interested in the guitar, that they have continued their studies with guitar into middle school, long after leaving the halls of our own P.S. 92. For all of this, I truly can't thank you enough.
I look forward to continuing to bring more musical opportunities to the students of P.S. 92. Stay tuned for our next big project, Keyboards!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Dirig

Funded Oct 18, 2022I cannot thank you enough for helping me bring these instruments into my music classroom. When I first showed the Djembe drums to my students their eyes lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to get their hands on them!
They have been an extraordinary learning tool to hundreds of students as young as four years and as old as twelve. From basic rhythmic exercises with Kindergarten, to reading music notation and performing advanced pieces of music in 5th grade, they have brought smiles to hundreds of students while helping them develop important music skills.
Moreover, they have been vital to the creation of our very own school ensemble, the P.S. 92 Percussion Club. Percussion Club has performed at school and district-wide events such as our annual Black History Month Showcase, as well as the District 17 Celebration of Cultures event. They have made their school community proud. Your help has truly made a difference!”
With gratitude,
Mr. Dirig
